April showers bring May flowers AND belated birthday wishes. Deb needed a springtime themed card and found the perfect papers to set the stage with this spring themed pad from Echo Park. It’s a fun one and an easy make, fancied up with a big bow which I personally LOVE. If easy to mail is what you need, minus the bow this card still looks wonderful!!!

Our patriotism should shine through 24/7/365, however the summer months have so many patriotic holidays to celebrate that I think we just pay more attention to patriotic creations during this season. In the near future we have Armed Forced Day on 5/18, Memorial Day celebrated this year on 5/27, Flag Day on 6/14 and next up is the 4th of July. Deb is one of the most creative people I know. Her talents extend to a myriad of the arts and crafts and we are so glad she shares her card-making abilities with us. And she loves to customize her cards for the specific recipients. Today’s card was made for her neighbor who is a doctor, and I think she nailed this one – for sure!

Today the good doctor is sporting a plaid shirt under his lab coat.

He had some health issues of his own and Deb wanted to give him an appropriate card – and that she did.

Deb cut/scored the card front into the shape of a lab coat, complete with a pocket for a rose bud and an embossed pencil.

The rose is from Thinking of You Rose by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

Deb crafted the pencil out of cardstock and used a sentiment from Typewritten Just Checking In by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

To give the pencil its realistic look Deb used a bit of Luxury Pearlescent Metallic 105# Cardstock in Silver.

She stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and shadowed it with Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink.

Deb used Spellbinders Standard Rectangles to create the pockets on both the lab coat and shirt.

In his pocket he carries a lovely rose and a pencil with the message/reason for sending the card.

The message continues on the shirt pocket inside, again from Typewritten Just Checking In by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

A little folding and cutting with the addition of buttons creates the perfect shirt.

The heart was cut using Farmhouse Pierced Nested Hearts by Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.

That luscious plaid paper is from Tartan Plaid by Craft Consortium.
