February Bible Verse

Published by at 12 47 am under Bible Verse Challenge

I’m trying to play catch up with the Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge. I started late and just last week did January’s verse, so this is my February verse. This challenge challenges us to make something each month with a Bible verse on it for the purpose of memorization. I am making index type cards and will soon make a file box to keep them in. Many are making cards and books — whatever you want! All are welcome to join in, and here’s the link to the challenge in the forums at SCS. Please, check it out! Here’s my February index card with verse:

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 What powerful words — and what comforting words. And how often we are able to rely on the power of God’s word when it is committed to memory. I am so grateful for this Bible Verse Challenge and look forward to making more index cards with longer portions of scripture that I have not yet committed to memory. I urge anyone who is so inclined to join in — it truly will be a blessing!

My index card basemeasures 4 x 6. All DP used is from a Periphery 6 x 6 pad by Basic Grey. I have been using up scrap pieces from other projects, which works wonderfully on these simple, collage type index cards. My entire project for the year will continue with the same papers/colors so I have a cohesive and attractive file box full of index cards once the year is complete.

My sentiment is from Elegant Inspirations, a recently retired SU set. Gee, I hated to see that one go. I love the verses and I love the font used. My little With Love panel was cut from a scrap, the lower rose piece is distressed on the top, and I’ve used a variety of stamps from Flourished Elements, Flourished Words and Many Sentiments, all by Flourishes. I used the white paper sold by Paper Trey and I love it’s pure whiteness and how well it *rags out* – yes, a totally technical term! WhatI mean is how easily it distresses and how easily it separates into layers so I can separate and curl them, like on the corners. Really love the weight of this paper, too! I’m trying to stick with my *Clean Shabby* look for this project. I like the distressing of the sentiment panel, theDTP’ing(applying the ink directly to the paper from the ink pad) of the DP panels, but I like to keep my white nice and fresh and clean and my base fresh and clean as well. It’s just a look I like!!

  • Stamps: SU retired Elegant Inspirations. Flourished Elements, Flourished Words, and Many Sentiments, all by Flourishes
  • Paper: SU Bashful Blue and Chocolate Chip. Paper Trey White. Periphery DP by Basic Grey.
  • Ink: Versa Fine Onyx Black. ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink in Lime Pastel, Olive Pastel, Ice Blue. Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo.
  • Accessories: Corner Rounder, Round Tab Punch, Distressing Tool on Cutter Kit, Blue Taffeta Ribbon, Copper Brads.

If all goes well, I’ll do the file box tomorrow, but we’re also working on taxes — not so fun!

I will also post my true confessions tomorrow — I have flubbed up big time in Blogland, and my confessions are way overdue, so, in the way of an apology, I will be offering some Blog Candy, so stay tuned!!! Thank you so much for stopping in!!!

Sharon ~ You have such a way with making cards. This one is just beautiful! I want to thank you for answering my question about your photo skills. I do the same thing, but I really cannot get a clear shot like I want…guess it will just take practice. This last little post that I did is so precious, and I even tried taking the pic outside. But only if you click on it can you see how much more bling etc. there is. Have a great day 🙂

Not all crepes bloom at the same time. You probably have a later-blooming selection. Be patient. I’ll bet you have blooms by July.
