Stamp Simply Challenge #39 – Go Bold!

Keyword ssnotime39-There is no time limit. You can play this challenge and upload yourproject at Splitcoastand/or your Blog, anytime at all! You (and that means anyone and everyone, blogger or not!)can play as many times as you like!!! The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link back here.

The challenge this week isto GO BOLD!!! With color, that is!!!So the theme is to use BOLD colors — bolder than you would typically use — and this means either cardstock OR designer paper OR ribbon OR any embellies — whatever you have to add that bolt of extra bold color to your project. With summer approaching (where I live, we wonder!), it just puts me in the mood for bolder colors!!! That’s it — an easy one again!!! Most importantly — have fun!!!

Here are some samples:

What a fabulous Stamp Simply Team!!! Thank you girls!!! Much appreciated!!!

And here’s my sample:

The bright pink comes from the Sultry pad by Basic Grey. I combined it with Certainly Celery, which is certainly not a bold color, but for some reason it seems a bit bolder here today!!! And that gorgeous ribbon is the Apple Green Wide Satin — I was really surprised at how well this goes with SU’s Certainly Celery — I really like the 2 together!!! The ribbon is a bit brighter than the Celery, but they work together just fine!!! My coffee cup is from Coffee with Friends, the first in the new Stamp Simply line by Flourishes, and I used my Petite Oval Nestabilities to cutand emboss the main image and mats. The scalloped frame was pierced as well, with a brad being added on top. It is mounted with Pop Dots. The Chocolate Dotted Sheer, tops if off! This paisley-ish print is my favorite piece in the Sultry pad – I just LOVE it!!! OH, and this cup in the set sure reminds me of Fiesta Ware!!! That’s why I chose it for my BOLD color card today!

Sharon, your card is just lovely. I love the DP you used for your background. My colors are also pink and green. It’s as bold a pink as I think I want to go though. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/945508?cat=8366

  5. Pat Adam says:

My idea of bold was to use chartruese card stock and go from there. Thanks for shaking up my brain with your great challenges. Pat

Here is my entry for the bold challenge. I thought red, white and blue are very bold colors! I saw all sorts of decorations for the 4th yesterday and I guess that stuck in my head.

Hi Sharon – your card is so pretty with all the layers and DP. I tried to go bold by starting off with the loudest DP and ribbon I have, but I think I somehow lost that bold feeling in the process. It’s fun playing along anyway, so here’s my entry. Thanks for the challenge!

This was not an easy one but I had fun with it.
I have used a colour combo what I think is bold, for me any way,
I have never put them together but it started with a package of
    flowerbrads………it’s on my blog http://www.stampinganja.blogspot.com
    Thanks Sharon!

Great challenge, Sharon! This one certainly challenged me as I tend not to use bold colors or patterns. I love your sample – the colors and the image are awesome! The other samples are beautiful, too! Thanks for all the inspiration! I hope this still counts even though I didn’t use stamps – I did keep it simple!

Here is the card that I came up with, http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/949297?cat=500&ppuser=156271 . I never use orange and now I have used it twice in two weeks, courtesy of your challenges. It was really too bold for me when I finished it, but it is growing on me a little bit.

    Thanks for the challenge!

    Toni
