Pastor Appreciation Card
Tonight I needed to make a card for our Pastor — did you know it is Pastor Appreciation month? Well, there’s not much month left, so tonight was the night to make it. I had already colored my image by the time the Featured Stamper Challenge at SCS popped up, so it was with great pleasure I could scan the gallery of an online friend, Kay Kalthoff, a/k/a SpeedyStamper, to find a card that would suit my already colored image, and I certainly found one, right on the first page — how lucky!!! It was a super simple layout with a single image and single sentiment — JUST PERFECT!!! This is Kay’s card that I chose to case. And here’s my card for our Pastor.
I was in a simple white mood tonight! As for the challenge, I stuck with the basic layout but I changed colors, images and the size of the card. Mycard is 5″ high x 5.5″ wide. I used a set I haven’t used yet from Our Daily Bread Designs, called Fruit of the Spirit. I found this fruit bowl quite easy and relaxing to color and I was pleased with how it came out. Once colored, I cut and embossed it using myRectangle Nestabilities by Spellbinders, added my sentiment tothe card front (love the size of this sentiment), popped my image up on foam mounting squares and I was done.
Stamps: Fruit of the Spirit by Our Daily Bread Designs
Paper: PTI White
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Rectangle Nestabilities by Spellbinders, foam mounting squares
And before I go I have a question for you all — although I’ve kept a good supplyof SU paper, ink and embellishments, I haven’t purchased any new SU sets for a long time, probably a good 7/8 months. I’d like to get a few new sets for Christmas, and I’m going to a workshop on Wednesday. Just wondering, what areYOUR favorite SUChristmas sets in the current book? You can help me decidewhatto buy!!! THANKS!!!
And thanks so much for stopping in again — I truly appreciate it! We have our Harvest Brunch at church today, so that’ll be fun!!! I’m teaching 2 classes here on Tuesday, so I’ll have to try to get ready for that — and that should be fun, too!!! Hope you all have a relaxing and enjoyable Sunday!!!

This is a wonderful card…simple and elegant!
Beautiful card, Sharon! As for SU’s holiday sets, my favorite, hands-down, is Snow swirled. It makes beautiful cards!
So pretty, Sharon!!
This is gorgeous, Sharon! Beautiful coloring of a beautiful image, and I love all the white. As for SU! — well, you know me…anything flowery or swirly. I just haven’t settled on many new SU! stamps that are very different from what I already have.
Beautiful card, Sharon. As far as Christmas images from SU – I only have a couple from the current catalog: Holy Triptych on page 43 and Merry and Bright on page 37. Holy Triptych makes very elegant cards. Merry and Bright is good for tags. Since relinquishing my SU demonstrator privileges, my stamping funds are channeled towards PaperTrey Ink. I also have some favorite retired SU Christmas images. I guess I’m not much help. I love the ribbon from the SU holiday mini.
Lovely card, Sharon!
My favorite Christmas set is definitely Snow Swirled. I love it. I have quite a few of them but that’s the one I keep reaching for!
Another vote for Snow Swirled. It’s so versatile and gorgeous!
Your card is beautiful, esp. the coloring and all the white. I love “white” white space that makes colors just pop!
My favourite SU Dhristmas set this year is definitely Snow Swirled, I am having a lot of fun with it. I just read the other comments and it seems I’m not alone in that thought!
Beautiful colouring and arrangement with your pastor’s card.
Hi Sharon… just a gorgeous card…
Sharon, just a beautiful card. I love the white and the simplicity. I know your pastor will love it. I need to get one made too!
These are my favorite SU Stamps. I don’t own them all yet, but they are my favorites.

Season of Simple Grace
A Cardinal Christmas
A Wish for Peace
A Heritage Holiday
Keep Christmas
Snowed Swirl
To You and Yours
This is a perfect card for a pastor. I love the stamped image and I’m sure it will make him/her feel much appreciated. TFS!
Lovely card. Your coloring is great. Thanks for sharing your Copic colors.
I will be posting my contribution to my Pastor-son that I need to get to him soon. I’m also teaching the Fruits of the Spirit to my 2-3 year-old Sunday School kids, and I put the curriculum together – using stamps with fruits and my favorite House Mouse characters! It has been fun!
I would say snow swirled.is m favourite of the new sets
Eileen
Okay, this is perfect, I’ve got multiple cards to get out and now I’m going to case your case of Kay’s gorgeous card!
A cardinal Christmas and Holy Tryptic are two of my favorites and for something more fun than elegant, Season of Joy. I love your card for your pastor! Stunning! -Mary
Beautiful card, Sharon!!
I have to vote for Snow Swirled too. I used it on my Christmas cards this year and they turned out very pretty. I love the swirly snowflake designs in this set.
Beautiful coloring! The card is terrific- I love the brightness and simplicity of it.
I’m afraid I cannot help you with the SU question- I’ve been buying CTMH and TAC recently and really loving them!
Lovely, simple … you inspire me!
I’m also suggesting Snow Swirled & To You and Yours for the SU sets.
This is so elegant with the all white backdrop! Marvelous coloring as well!
I love your work and check here often. My favorite Christmas set is Christ is Born.
Your cards are always so beautiful! My current favorite Christmas set is Snow Swirled. Have fun at the workshop!
My fav Christmas sets are Scandinavian and Winter Post. Scandinavian is so pretty when embossed and paired with Ski Slope DP. I just love those cute mittens. Winter Post reminds me of home ice skating on Lake Michigan oh so many years ago. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. Thanks for the awwsome blog!
Forgot to mention that I love my newest set which is “Christ is Born.” I used it in my SSnotime57 challenge last week. You can find the link from the challenge, if you care to, or take a peek at my blog: http://krbskorner.blogspot.com
I’m also liking the one with the sled in the Holiday Mini, but I don’t have that one yet.
I really like To You and Yours from SU. I’d love to see what you could do with that set! I love to visit your site, all your cards and directions are super!
I really like To You and Yours from SU. I’d really like to see what you could do with that set. Love to visit your blog, all your cards are beautiful!
Sharon, your card is beautiful, such elegant coloring! My favorite Christmas set this year is in the Holiday Mini called Winter Post. It has a vintage feel and a good variety of stamps. I can’t seem to stop using it! Have fun at your workshop!
The card for your Pastor is lovely, Sharon, and so beautifully colored! As far a Christmas sets, I love the Scandinavian set from the mini and have Holy Triptych from last year. The Scandinavian tree is just gorgeous embossed! If you’re interested in something fun, I’ve seen some really cute cards with Holiday Lineup. I don’t have it, but have been thinking about ordering it–all three images just make me laugh! Thanks for sharing your wonderful cards!
Love the card’s simplicity – really makes your colored image stand out 🙂 I love the “Snow Swirled” set from the new catalog, I thought the swirled tree is very pretty, and being a sucker for snowflakes – the set has a couple beautifully delicate ones. Since you’re so good at coloring, you might also consider the “Home for Christmas” set from the holiday mini, and “Sleigh Bells Ring” from the regular catalog, both of which would look fabulous even if they aren’t colored in. “Winter Post” from the holiday mini might be another one if you like the vintage look, and it’s more winter than holiday if you’d like a set like that. Hope that helps a smidge – Have fun choosing! 🙂
Yes, I did know that. We have had such a crazy horrible month though that I have not taken the time to do anything yet. Thanks for the reminder that I still have a few days left! Your card is beautiful!
Lovely card. It looks very elegant.
As far as SU stamps for Christmas, my favorite is Season of Simple Grace. It’s in the current mini catalogue, not the big catalogue. I ordered it myself, and although I don’t have it yet, I’m planning on using it for my Christmas cards this year. HTH!
Your card is simply elegant and beautiful! I love the coloring!
My favorite SU set is Snow Swirled! It’s so versatile and beautiful and it works in a multitude of non-traditional colors!
Beautiful card. All the white and clean LO is perfect for a pastor. And ‘no’, I didn’t know it was pastor apreciation month, nothing was said at my church about it (unless I was listening, LOL!). My favorite SUXmas sets are: ‘Christmas Classics’, ‘Punch Pals’, ‘A Wish for Peace’, ‘Keep Xmas’,’Big on Xmas’,’A Holly Jolly Xmas’,’Baby Jesus is Born’, ‘Sleigh Bell Rings’, “Holy Triptych’, and ‘To you and yours’, as you can tell, I like a lot of them. I love SU!
Very, very pretty…I got confused when I was scrolling through and thought the Grace card above was your Pastor appreciation card – it’s very pretty, too. I love your coloring on this card – your pastor will feel very appreciated, I’m sure!!
Your card is so lovely, Sharon…and your coloring is fabulous!! Wow!!
Sorry…I can’t really help much with choosing a new SU set. I haven’t ordered any myself, though Snow Swirled is one I’ve considered. (I don’t think anything will beat Peaceful Wishes for me.)
What a beautiful card, Sharon. But then all of your work is beautiful!
Such talent you have. As for SU Christmas sets, I have to give another
vote to Snow Swirled….a really complete set….inside and outside
sentiments, beautiful tree and snowflakes to use as background. One
other set I have fallen in love with is Season of Simple Grace. I have
that one on order. Plan to use both of these sets for our Christmas
cards this year…..and, no, I haven’t used them yet. Heck, I just
finished making and sending my Halloween cards. Next comes
Thanksgiving…..Yikes! I’d better get busy! Enjoy your workshop!
Hands down-Snow Swirled and Holy Triptych! Love those 2 sets. They are both very versatile.I also like A Cardinal Christmas from the mini but I don’t have that one yet. Can’t wait to see what you decide on and what beautiful things you come up with!
Janet
I just ordered the “Scandinavian Season”. My ancestors are all from Norway so this set really caught my eye. I can’t wait to get and play!
Beautiful card! I love the coloring and wish I did as well!
As for SU, Snow Swirled is a favorite as well as Punch Pals. The only set from the mini I purchase was Mr. Twigster.
Definitely SCANDINAVIAN!!!!! from the Holiday Mini
