More Bella for Christmas

Published by at 12 43 am under Christmas Cards,Stampin' Up! Projects

Another Christmas card with Bella Rose DP, the bird from Always and this fun wide gingham! The color challenge colors today at SCS were Riding Hood Red, Pretty in Pink, and Kiwi Kiss — how could I NOT use Bella Rose DP again today!!! Here’s my card.

This card is my favorite 5.5″ square size. Since I was going with non-Christmas papers, I thought I’d try a stamp that wasn’t really a Christmas stamp either — the pretty bird from Always.I stamped the branch from Always into her mouth, colored those berries with a red Spica Glitter pen, then adhered 2 of the Martha Stewart Punch branches and some sparkly red rhinestones!!! I then added a bit of Quickie Glue Pen and Dazzling Diamonds and called my main image done! Oh, the earth and sky were sponged on while the image was still in the Nestie, resulting in the crisp, white border! I used a cropadile to punch holes for the ribbon. Here’s a close up of the detailed image.

Can you now see how I made the branch in her mouth and all the sparkles added? There is also a black pearl in her eye, and adding that just finishes her off — she looked so plain with that white eye!!! LOL!!!

Stamps: SU Always and Many Merry Messages Paper: SU Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red, Bella Rose DP Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, SU Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Close to Cocoa, Baja Breeze Accessories: Ribbon, Petite Oval Nestabilities by Spellbinders, Martha Stewart Fern Punch, Cropadile, Sponges, Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Rhinestones, Pearl, Spica Glitter Pen, Mounting Tape

Just a quick post tonight — thanks so much for stopping in. I’ll be back tomorrow (I hope). I got several new Inkadinkado sets and my new SU order arrives on Friday, so I’ll be set!!! I have Christmas sets in both orders!!! Thanks much for stopping!!!

Hubby is heading your way next week – WOnder what his chances are for getting a deer….? Is it as warm there as it is for us trolls?

Love the card. One question………doesn’t the large bow knot, pearl, rhinestones and size of the card require extra postage? I have a large family and send a LOT of cards. It costs a bunch to do that and I don’t want to pay extra postage on them. I’ve noticed many of the cards on the blogs are square, which always calls for more postage.

Wow what a great color combo. I love it. I’m back in Michigan so can try to play the challenge this week. Played last week but didn’t link to you as I’m really a dunce with a lap top computer with no mouse. Felt like one of the three blind mice trying to manipulate Julie’s equipment. Pat

Beautiful card, as usual..just a quick question..what size nestability is the oval? I don’t have any yet, and am debating buying some, but not all, to start, and I’m trying to decide if the petite or regular size are the most useful for card-making purposes? Thanks for sharing!

Sharon…you are one creative and talented lady!!
What a lovely country Christmas look to this card…so non-traditional yet very festive in its feel. Amazing what a little Bling can do. How obvious to sponge the background while still in the die-cut…at least it is obvious to me now…hahaha! I so enjoy you creative inspiration…and never tire of seeing what you”ve come up with. I will have to crack out my Bella and gingham now too.
