Pink Christmas Classics

A pink Christmas card — that looks more like a baby card!!! Oh well, let’s just say I killed two birds with one stone — a Christmas card and an idea for a baby card — LOL!!! I made this card for today’s Featured Stamper Challengeat SCS, and today’s Featured Stamper is Wendybell — LOVE her work!!! This is the card I cased. Here’s mine:

AS you can see, what I took from Wendybell’s card was the hanging element and the fact that it was a basically white card. I changed colors, images, added a sentiment, embossing and a ribbon. I really do like this card and I will try it again in other colors. The ornaments are in my new SU set, Christmas Classics. This is my first test run with it and I think I’m going to like it! The ornaments are stamped on the white in black ink and colored with pink. They are stamped again on a scrap piece of pink, black embossed, then cut out and mounted onto the card with dimensionals. I drew the black strings in with my SU Black Journaler.

I wanted to show you this close up as it is a detail I really love. I do it often, and very often it just doesn’t show up on my photos.I haveembossed lines above and below the ribbon. I do this using my Scor-It Mini. It just takes a minute and I think it adds so much. I keep my Mini right where I work so I don’t even have to get up and go to my counter where I keep my other tools, so it’s really handy. Just wanted to show you!

Stamps: Christmas Classics, Many Merry Messages both by SU

Paper: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette by SU

Ink: Black Stazon, Versa Mark, Pretty in Pink Marker, Black Journaler, all SU

Accessories: Pink Taffeta, Corner Rounder, Black Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Scor-It Mini

That’s it for tonight — a short post again. I’m working on a fun project that may be ready for a Monday night upload — hoping so — it’s a really fun girlfriend gift!!! And as I said before, I will continue working on quick and flat Christmas cards and post those regularly!!! Hope you had a great weekend. We have several inches of snow on the ground. Still hoping it melts, and I do think it will!!! The eternal optimist!!! See you soon!!! Thanks for coming!!!

Oh, almost forgot — those of you who subscribe with Feedblitz — they have not been picking up all my posts — I know they missed one or two this week and they missed several about two weeks ago. I find it very frustrating, but I can’t seem to get it fixed. Just letting you know that you are NOT getting all the updates through Feedblitz of late – I am posting 5/6 times a week — just so you know!!! And THANK YOU so much for reading and checking!!! I truly do appreciate it!!!

This is really beautiful. I had not taken notice of this set in the catty, I should go back and give it a second look.

This is so soft and beautiful. I can’t see sending this to a guy for Christmas but think a single or widowed lady would love it!! I really like that ornament stamp and will be fun to see all that you do with it!!

This is such a lovely card Sharon! I especially like the added scoring to emphasize the ribbon. You’re right…it would make a terrific baby card design too. 😉

Sharon, just when I think I love a card of yours the best, you go and do it again. This is fabulous — simplicity yet stunning, elegant, and marvelous details. LOVE IT!!

  9. Gorgeous ornaments Sharon! Love the pink….it can be Christmasy too 🙂

Apparently my posts are also not going out with Feedblitz lately too…no idea here either!

Well…how about a Christmas card FOR a baby? Seriously, Sharon, I think this is absolutely gorgeous and I’d love to receive a card like this. I’d oooooooh and ahhhhhhhh over it for a good long while and then display it prominently among my other Christmas decorations. It’s a sweet feast for the eyes!

Sharon, this card is so soft and sweet, I just love it! A fabulous design, I love the clean, crisp feel to it. I’m also having the same problems with Feedblitz, only in the reverse, I’m not getting the feeds from some of the girls, then I’ll get one and see several projects they did that I missed. It is frustrating!

The simplicity of this card is lovely, so is the non-traditional “pinkness”! Your bow looks perfect.

All your work is so inspirational…love all your “flat” card ideas. As much as I enjoy working with all the embellishments, I try to simplify the holiday cards to keep mailing costs to a minimum. Your blog is on my favorite list…thank you for sharing.

    Sharon,
That is very elegant to score above and below your ribbon. What a nice touch. And if you had not mentioned that, I think I may have missed it!!
    Thank you so much.
And I was wondering about the snow situation at home this morning as I swam…OUTDOORS!!…not to rub it in, but I do enjoy my morning swim!!
Thanks for all you do…and I miss you guys ALOT!! Connie

I honestly don’t know how you do it. When I do something “simply” that is what it looks like. When you do something simply, it is amazing! You are the best! Curt

Another beautiful card, Sharon. You do amazing work! I, too, have been
wondering why I am not getting all of your posts. Guess Feedblitz needs
to get busy and track down the problem. Wouldn’t want to miss anything!
    Have a wonderful day.
