The Ultimate Valentine Challenge

Published by at 1 35 pm under Announcements

1,000 Valentines. Can we do it??? I believe we can!!!

I’m sure most of you know my friend Julie Koerber, Out to Impress. And I know many of you also know Julie’s Mom, Pat Adam, The Rubber Maid. Pat is a regular player in our Friday Stamp Simply Challenges. Pat is from my home state of Michigan, but she lives closer to the Detroit area. And Pat, bless her heart, does volunteer work for Children’s Hospital in Detroit. She heads up a charity called Cards 4 Kids. Well, Pat was just given the Ultimate Challenge!!! The administrator of Children’s Hospital recently contacted Pat and asked if she could come up with 1,000 Valentines — oh, how happy these children will be to receive such special Valentines!!! There are both smaller children AND teenagers in need of a Valentine.

But at the same time, can you just imagine the huge responsibility put on Pat to come up with 1,000 Valentines!!! Oh my goodness!!!! But I do believe, with all our help, she can do it!!! I know I have many cards here with hearts that will work perfectly for Valentines and I’m surely going to be making some more. How about you — can you help??? If so, please email Pat directly at [email protected]for further instruction. You may also read this older post on Pat’s Blog about how Cards 4 Kids got started.

I LOVE a good challenge — and this IS a GOOD CHALLENGE!!! Your help and support will be greatly appreciated not only by Pat, but especially by all those children who will receive these cards this Valentine’s Day!!!! Thank you!!!

Sharon, how can I thank you for the wonderful plug for my Cards 4 Kids project? You wrote a wonderful entry and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know you are a great influence in the stamping world as are all of your team of the Stamp Simply group. I know this goal can and will be met as I am already getting responses, and what a wonderful way to make Valentine’s Day 2009 so very special for all the sick children in Children’s Hospital of Michigan. God bless and thank you. If you are reading this and can join in just come on over and get in on the joy we can provide. Pat aka rubbermaid

  2. Sharon, I echo my mom’s post! THANK YOU! 😀

Sharon, a pledge of 50 Valentines plus whatever designed and stamped cards/ post cards Junior Church students make Sunday has been sent Pat for CH of Detroit. Now, does the administrator know our rubbermaid needs a nifty tub for all the creative Valentines coming CH of Detroit’s way!??! With joyful challenge and blessing, Keep Looking Up!

What a great and giving idea…I will be emailing Pat now…TFS Sharon…I already have a few cards that I can send to her. And now that I know about this…I have other holiday cards that I can send and will make a point of sending future cards 🙂

I have posted a message on my blog, but it’s brand new and isn’t likely to get much traffic. However, I sent notes to four Yahoo groups I belong to sending them here to see what it’s all about. All four groups do cards — one of them is specifically for cardmaking! And I’ll see what I can come up with on my own.
