Bella Rose Valentine

This card serves as either a Valentine or a Thinking of You card. I like when cards can serve double duty!!! I played the Featured Stamper challenge over at SCS today to case Julie Ebersole — fun!!! This is the card I chose to case. I added a lot more to my card than the original, bothin terms of layers and embellishments, but you can certainly see the same layout used. Here it is:

I love making this type of card. It’s really quite easy and fun. There is hardlyany stamping involved, one small sentiment, and the rest is just playing with pretty paper! I used my Heart Nestabilities for the focal image, a Martha Stewart Lace Punch for my scalloped border, and some pretty ribbon and pearls for embellishments. It’s just a matter of playing with pattern and layering. To me this is kind of fun, lazy day type of stamping!!! I don’t worry about much stamping and just let all the pretty things, paper, pearls and ribbon, take center stage!!! Something I enjoy anyway!

Here’s a closeup of the stick pin I made. Kind of hard to see, but I hope you can. These are all things I got from Sabrina. Refer to this post. The stopper on the botton is an earring back from JoAnns and it was silver. I colored it with my darkest brown Copic and it now blends in with the copper colored pin just fine!!! Gotta love those Copics. They come to the rescue so often!!! This particular pin was in a new batch of things Sabrina sent me — I’ll get the maker of it and link here shortly.

Stamps: Retired SU Gentle Greetings

Paper: SU Pink Pirouette and Bella Rose DP

Ink: SU Basic Brown

Accessories: May Arts Sheer Ribbon, Kaiser Pearls, Spellbinders Heart Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Lace Punch, SU Piercer and Mat Pack, Pins, Beads and Earring Back, Glue Dots, Glue Runner from Joans Garden

On another note, my stamp room is such a mess I can barely stand to be in it and it is adversely affecting my creativity immensely. I have to stop everything and just take some time to clean it up and organize again. I’ve always wanted to do photos of my stamp room to share here — not that it is so great and wonderful, because it is just very average — but I know I enjoy seeing the stamp spaces of others, so just thought some may be *snoops* like me — LOL!!! In an effort to keep me on track with my cleaning down there, I decided to photo my room in small sections, day by day, as I get each little area cleaned up. Then when it’s all done I can do a room shot so you can put it all together. Kind of a backwards way of doing it, but the hope is that if I feel I need to post a photo here each day, maybe that’ll keep me working — LOL!!! That’s my goal, anyway!!! Hoping to have a little glimpse of my room for you tomorrow and I’ll continue to squeeze in as may simple creations as I can!!!

Thanks much for checking in!!! I truly do appreciate it!!! Hope to see you soon!!!

A beautiful card Sharon, I love how you make magic appear with simple designer paper, not that this paper is simple, but that you have a way of making everything look so easy, even though I know it isn’t! Am I making any sense . . . LOL!

  20. Jennifer says:

How beautiful! I can barely walk in my craft room right now; well, on side of it anyway. I have a large execute desk, a matching console, and 4 6-ft tables on one half of the room. Every surface is covered, and I mean covered, with my “stuff”. It looks like a craft bomb went off up there. My daughter and I had to clear a path and push one of the tables out of the way so that we could play the WII. ACK!!!!

  21. Love it! It’s a beautiful card!!!

  22. rebecca says:

Love your idea to photo the room bit by bit. At my house, I would never get the “whole enchilada” since I can never keep an area clean for more than a day! LOL! I’m sure you’ll inspire us to get our areas cleaned up!

  32. Sabrina aka okimom2girlz says:

Wowser, Sharon, you just blow me away with your creativity!!! This is my all time favorite color combination. I don’t know what is is about brown and pink it is just gorgeous. I see I have to hook you up with some more beads :D:D:D:D!!!!!!! Let me tell you I have found these spacer beads and they double function as spacer beads and little thingies (can’t think of the right word here,LOL) that you can put under brads. Not too big, just right.
Did you get the corsage pins? Like some of the other ladies that posted before me, I would like to see a picture too of your craft heaven. It just has to be heaven with all of those heavenly creations that come out of it :D.

    Hugs,
    Sabrina

  39. Sherry says:

Sharon, you have outdone yourself…..again! What a beautiful card.
Your talent constantly amazes me. I need to clean up two stamping
areas….before my DH throws me out of the house….LOL! Not a fun
part of the creative process…..but a very necessary one. Thanks
    for sharing your lovely work.

  40. Amy B says:

OMG! this is so PRETTY! I love it!!!! You are so very talented!

  41. Bev J. says:

Beautiful card-I love the color combo.

I really look forward to seeing your crafting room. I am very interested in a good storage system. My shared space is a retired bedroom that is the A. office-a desk along one wall where I pay bills, etc.; B. my crafting space-I use the office desk to stamp and put my cards together; C. computer/printer room on a desk along opposite wall; D. sewing/ironing room-sewing machine and ironing board up all the time; E. shelves above the sewing machine for stamps, supplies, etc. so space is tight.

Thinking in terms of going to more wall storage. My desks are actually 6 ft. long pieces of butcherblock counter tops set on file cabinets which work very well-just need to clean out some of the file drawers which would be extra storage. tfs

Now, a new designer cause on tap for some more mature cards in that stash going to Pat / Cards4Kids at Children’s Hospital. Wonderful tidbit!
