Stamp Simply #75 – Black Ink Only
Keyword ssnotime75 -There is no time limit. You can play this challenge and upload yourproject at Splitcoastand/or your Blog, anytime at all! You (and that means anyone and everyone, blogger or not!)can play as many times as you like!!! The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link back here.
Today’s Challenge is to use Black Ink Only — I often make cards using BLACK INK ONLY, and I can in all honesty say it is one of my VERY FAVORITE ways to create a quick card. I hope you enjoy it, too!!! And today this means NO COLORING of any sort – no markers, no pencils, no chalks, no inks — just black ink only. Now, if you can color with black ink only, that’s A-OK!!! LOL!!! No other restrictions, anything else goes!!! Have fun with it!!!
Some great samples for the Stamp Simply Challenge today can be seen on the blogs of these designers:Heather, Dee, Tammy, Janine, AJ, Jennifer, Becky, and Julie. Please bear with us as we are all uploading and linking on Thursday night.
You can see all Gallery Submissions here.
What wonderful samples!!! Thank you girls!!! Much appreciated!!!
Heres my card for today, using Black Ink Only:
I find stamping with Black Ink Only to be fun, quick and easy and it most often yields a crisp and sharp, striking result, which is what I am often after. I really like how this card turned out. I used many new things I just picked up from Joan’s Garden, and as you can see, this is a very easy card to make. The image was one bundle of branches that I stamped 3 times, then tied a ribbonaround each bundle. It is simply matted on black and mounted onto a card base with some DP. My large brad coordinates with the paper pack. These brads have the large prongs on them – I think you all know what I mean. And on this card I had no layers to hide my prongs between, and I didn’t want them showing on the inside of the card, so I just cut the prongs off close to the base with a little wire cutter. Two quick snips and they were off. I had to use 3 of the big, fat SU Pop Up Glue Dots behind my brad to elevate it enough to get it above the panel, but it looks good and I got rid of the fat prong issue!! This card is 5 1/4 x 7 inches.
Stamps: Delicate Branches (image) and Southern Belle (sentiment) both by Inkadinkado
Paper: White, Black, Sublime DP by Kaiser
Ink: Versa Fine Onyx Black
Accessories: Dotted Sheer Ribbon, Sublime Brads by Kaiser, Foam Mounting Squares, Pop up Glue Dots by SU, Glue Glider, Eyelet setter for holes.
Note: The INKA stamps, Kaiser Paper and Brads, my Foam Mounting Squares and Glue Glider all came from Joans Garden.
MY FAVORITE BLACK INK for getting a good solid image is Versa Fine Onyx Black. The ink is very black and the raised pad stays wet almost FOREVER. I LOVE this black ink for this type of stamping. It is available at Stampers Dream.
Hope you can find some time to play with Black Ink Only this weekend!!! It’s something I truly enjoy doing!!! As always, I so appreciate your visits — thank you so much!!! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead!!!

What a lovely card, Sharon, as always. The bundle of branches is a great stamp and your background colours set it off beautifully.
Wow, you’ve used the most beautiful papers on this card. I love the clean and crisp branches. I think I’ll have to give this one a try. How can you go wrong with using black, right?
Hugs,
Sabrina

Sharon,
I’ve been a fan of your art for quite a while, unfortunately with all the stuff going on in my life, have not had a chance to participate in any of the challenges. But, like you, black ink is my very favorite so maybe I’ll get a chance to submit one of my creations to your challenge by this weekend.
This is such a stunning card Sharon! I can’t wait to play today!
How beautiful and elegant! I love those bundles all tied up with the ribbon, and the colors are gorgeous together!
That’s amazing! It doesn’t look like black ink only, but it is! Your work is top-notch.
Stunningly beautiful Sharon…I love this image that you used and your papers…
Pretty card, Sharon. I love the DPs. I haven’t been able to do your challenges for a while, but I found some time between doctors’ appointments today to do this: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1243146?cat=13815
Awesome card, Sharon! Very fun challenge, too! I combined it with today’s LSC on SCS – to use green. Here is my card: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1243199?cat=500&ppuser=80719
Just lovely Sharon! I WILL find time to play along! Hugs,
Loved doing this challenge, Sharon. I love ideas that help cut the time but doesn’t cute the elegance of a card. Here’s my try:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1243243?cat=500&ppuser=7104
Wow Sharon is this card every fantastic!!! Question: Is Versafine Onyx a Permanent ink? Will it run if you do use it and want to color? Just curious. I have both the Pallette Noir and Stazon pad and neither one stays moist enough even when I have just inked them. Just not black enough for my tastes. TFS!!!!
This is so strikingly beautiful!! I love the green with the black, and your pretty ribbon treatment!!
Wow, What a stunning card. Love the crisp feel this has.
This is stunning Sharon!! I love the ribbon around the bunches of branches, it looks awesome!!! Beautiufully done! Here is my card, Fresh Blooms

Hi Sharon,
Amazing inspiration. I posted my first ever challenge card tonight after looking at all your work on a regular basis. One question, how do you use a blog to post instead of the upload. Do you put your URL in where it says to browse for the file? Such a newbie at this.
Thanks for all your great ideas and for sharing so generously.
Linda
Thanks for another fun challenge … I let the papers do the talking on my card:
