Pink Silk Thanks
Pinks and grays — you can never go wrong with that combo! So, of course, I had to play the Color Challengetoday at SCS calling for Pink Pirouette, Rose Red and Basic Gray. I did add some River Rock, which I’m considering an allowed neutral for today — LOL!!! My card just called for the addition ofRiver Rock and whenever it comes down to sticking tight to the challenge rules or doing what needs to be done to make my project its best, I always opt to stretch the rules a bit and do what’s best for my project. In that respect I am probably a very poor challenge player, but nonetheless, I love to play them (and I haven’t been kicked out yet – LOL!). Here’s my card:
I’m a happy camper today, I love this card, River Rock and all!!! I’ve done cards before where I use the small dessert bowl to my Corelle set to trace a circle and then just cut it out with scissors. It’s a perfect 5.5″ circle — YAY for Corelle!!! If you sponge the edges of your circle, even if you have a bit of inconsistency in your hand cutting, no one will ever see it! This card is basically very simple, using DP, one single focal image and adding die cuts or punch outs as embellishments along with a wide silk ribbon (from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store). My card is 5.5″ square.
Can you see why I needed to add the River Rock? There’s just a touch of that color in the DP (Perhaps by Basic Grey) and adding it just brought the card to life – I HAD to do it! Carte Postale by SU has long been my FAV stamp set of all time, but I must say, I am really enjoying the current Friends 24-7 almost as much!
Stamps: Friends 24-7 and Thank You Kindly, both by SU
Paper: PTI White, SU Pink Pirouette and River Rock, Perhaps DP by Basic Grey

I’m so glad you stopped in again today. And we DID get our snow – LOTS of it – heavy and wet! School was cancelled yesterday at noon and there is no school today. We have reports of reaching 60 degreesbyThursday– I am keeping my fingers crossed — LOL!!! My tulip leaves were barely poking out of the ground and now they are covered deeply in snow — hope they survive!!! I think they will!!! Wishing you a wonderful week — see you soon!

Absolutely gorgeous Sharon, beautiful papers, beautiful colors, a bow to die for . . . so beautifully tied!
Wow!! This is stunning. Love all the gorgeous details. The River Rock addition is perfect. Makes me miss River Rock even more! 🙂
Have a good day!! Can’t wait to visit again!
Lesley 🙂
Beautiful card! And, regarding challenges, I think you are allowed a little “creative license!” LOL!!!
Hi Sharon,
Yeah! I have the Carte Postale stamp set so now I can copy your lovely creation. I like how you used the half circle on your card and certainly I can find a similar little bowl to use.
I’ve also seen you use this little stamp before but I didn’t know it came from the Carte Postale set so now I’m off to find your other creation. TFS! Sheila
Lovely, lovely card Sharon. I love the way you put this together.

Very very pretty indeed xx
Your creations are so beautiful, I LOVE this!! TFS.
This is just soooo amazing, Sharon! Those papers are lovely, and that bow…OMGoodness!!
This is just gorgeous Sharon – you make me need to get out my much neglected Perhaps pad and go play! The river rock looks just perfect to me – and aren’t rules there to be stretched!
I think this is just so feminine and lovely!!! I like the River Rock and agree with you that just a touch was needed 🙂 It’s just gorgeous!
So very elegant! I think the River Rock was the perfect gentle contrast. Sensational!
River Rock is definitely a neutral! lol GORGEOUS card Sharon!!!!
I just discovered your blog and spent the evening looking at all your work. Just fabulous! Thanks for the inspiration and I will be visiting every day from now on.
Totally took my breath away when this image came up on my computer! WOW Sharon, absolutely gorgeous!
I love the pinks and grays together also and I agree the river rock just needed to be there! Another beautiful card with that gorgeous ribbon!
TFS
Beautiful colours, shapes and images, Sharon. I don’t think I have paired River Rock with Pink before, thanks for the inspiration.
All of your recent cards with the silk ribbon are just beautiful. I will CASE your ideas when I am handing a card to someone BUT for mailing, at least here in Ohio – the post office is getting really tight on sending cards with ANY ‘lumps’. And with postage going up AGAIN May 11 (.44) I just don’t want to pay extra to send my lumpy cards. So now all my ribbon is flat – not near as pretty as yours, but cheaper to send.
Stunning! The little bird is the perfect touch!!
Yeah, I think you really ‘cheated’ on the color challenge, but thats why your card looks so beautiful! The original colors were just too hard to work with. I didn’t like my card at all, but I love yours!
Just gorgeous Sharon- love the circle! I do miss River Rock- such a useful color….
This is beautiful, Sharon! I love pink and gray together, and with the silk and the Perhaps DP (a favorite of mine) — gorgeous!!
This is a stunner! So feminine! I think this is my new favorite SU set, vintage and versatile!
Great card Sharon……have always loved grays & pinks. Would love to do a baby card with these colors..any ideas?? Keep showing us your wonderful ideas and stunning results. ekc
