The moment I saw an Old Fashioned Christmas Set by JustRite Stampers, I KNEW I wanted to play first with the darling snowman included in the set.  He is just so cute with his stocking cap.  And this set is in one of my very favorite sizes — the large 3 1/4″ circle.  And I decided to use this large stamp on a rather small card — a 4.25″ square card, and it worked out just fine.  Take a look:

A fun size card for a change!  Works great for a gift enclosure, to tuck into a gift bag or even a stocking!  And using just this one image made it quick to produce.  My snowman is Copic colored, Nestie cut, and mounted with dimensionals onto another circle stamped with the border I chose to use, all resting atop the red scallops.  Simple and quick layering.  And I thought the Swiss Dots might look a little like tiny snowflakes in the background!  A big red button and twisted rope add a little adornment!  Here’s a visual of the set for you:

An Old Fashioned Christmas contains 4 Centers and 4 Borders that you can mix and match for a variety of looks.  It is used on the 3 1/4″ Round Wood Stamper.  And I do so love the old fashioned charm of these images — totally fun! 

As I said above, I stamped my image, colored it and cut it out.  Then on a separate sheet I stamped my border and cut it out (all cutting is with my Petite Circle Nestabilities).  This gave me 2 layers to play with, giving me some added dimension.  And can you see how I’ve cut out my snowman image.  I do like to cut my images as it makes them easier to use when used alone without a border.  It prevents the ink from collecting on the rubber edges and leaving unsightly marks when you stamp.  Totally FUN set and I know I’ll be using these images alot for my Christmas cards and gifts this year.
