Flower Soft Blog Hop

Note:  This is Post #2 for today.  Please check out Post #1, new JustRite Product, as well.

Another month has come and gone and it’s time for our monthly Flower Soft Blog HopFlower Soft has some fun new product to share this month, and I’ll tell you , I had SO much fun doing this.  Can you think of perhaps combining a snow globe and a shaker card?  Well, that’s just what I have to show you today — take a look:

Talk about fun!!!  Truly, a Snow Globe filled with a layered image and some snow to shake (Polar White Flower Soft)!  And easy, just my style — the Aperature Cards with the oval cutouts come all set and ready for us to use.  The plastic domes fit (Snow Globes) them perfectly.  And the images that I’ve layered come pre-printed (3-D Cutout Toppers) ready for us to cut out and layer with dimensionals.  Take a look at the product:

This is exactly what I used to make my card — the Aperature Cards with Envelopes, the 3-D Cutouts, the Snow Globes, Polar White Flower Soft and Flower Soft Glue.  You’ll need to have your own dimensional products — I used SU Dimensionals.  And the Good Newsexactly what you see above is being offered as blog candy at the Flower Soft Blog, so make sure you head over to the Flower Soft Blog to enter for your chance to win this fun prize!

Here’s a bit more detail for you to see.  The layered image inside has Polar White Flower Soft applied to appear as both fallen snow and the fuzz on the girls jacket/hood.  My ribbons, both 1.5″ and 3/8″ are May Arts Gingham, and the buttons are Basic Grey.  I carry both in the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store

The DP is Frosty Days by SU.  And I might add, the card is white.  It was quick and easy to cover it with this DP.  I used the very largest solid oval in the Petite Oval Nestabilities.  The shape is PERFECT!  I cut a sheet of paper 5.75″ wide x 12″ long (that’s how long the DP was).  I placed my large Oval on the sheet so when it was cut I could place my sheet over the card.  Just make sure you place your Oval so once cut the DP covers all of the card.  Once the Snow Globe is glued onto your card, then apply adhesive to the card front and carefully place the DP over the globe, making sure you get a nice even white border around your globe.  Now, the DP is much larger than the card.  It’s now easy to go to your paper cutter and carefully trim of all excess DP.  This is quick and not any time is spent fussing with measurements!

Just trying to show you the dimension of both the globe itself and the layered images inside.

Stunning card!! I adore Snowmen and Snow Globes (even if it doesn’t snow here in Australia at Christmas time and can be over 100 degrees) and this idea is just fabulous – I love it!! One just couldn’t help but “shake” it, could one? Over and over and over……..
Love the green and royal blue together too – it’s so eye catching.

Your cards are always so gorgeous!! After seeing all of your beautiful bows, I bought the bow easy! I was wondering what you use to attach your bows that are “freestanding” on your cards? Sometimes I have a hard time getting mine to actually stay attached. If you have any helpful hints, I would really appreaciate them. Thank You!!
