Stamp Simply #114 – All Wrapped Up!

All Wrapped Up — Since Christmas is just around the corner and many use the Thanksgiving weekend to get a head start on wrapping their gifts, today let’s share gift wrapping ideas.  You may wrap ANYTHING for ANY OCCASION in any way, any form or fashion — just show us some of your wrapping ideas.  Examples:  Wrap a card in a handmade envelope, wrap a gift of food in a handmade box or decorated bag, wrap a box with beautiful ribbon and tag, make wrappers for tiny food treats (bars, gum, candies, cookies).  The sky is the limit on this one — just wrap something so it’s ready to give as a gift.  Fun!!!

And here’s my wrap job for this week:

I’ll be the first to admit that I love, love, LOVE fiddling with this type of project.  I could sit and do these type of boxes all day long, putting together different paper and ribbon combinations.  They are so quick and easy you have SUCH a feeling of accomplishment in short order — and I like that!

box-m-360w.jpg

These boxes are 2″ cubes – 2x2x2.  They are made from 2 sheets of 6 x 6 DP.  I used the new DP I have listed for sale by Kaiser — Dear Santa and Belle.  I used Dear Santa on this box.

I used the Belle DP pad for this box.  All my monograms are tiny, done with the 1 3/16″  Monogram Kit which contains my favorite Damask borders, just in a smaller size.  I LOVE this tiny little size for fun projects.  SO quick – and to aid in speed, these monograms are a perfect fit for the SU punches.  On all 3 boxes today I used SU’s 1 1/4 and 1 3/8″ punches and SU’s Scallop Punch.

I just got 3 new types of Velvet Ribbon in LOTS of yummy colors. Soon as I’m done here, I’m going to photo it and load it into my Ribbon Store, so check it out if you like velvet!  I LOVE velvet for rich, lush holiday projects!!!  Even using just a little velvet on a project adds so much!

Here’s the small 1 3/16″ Stamper/Monogram Kit by JustRite.  It sells for $19.95 and makes a wonderful addition to your existing monogram collection OR a wonderful gift for someone this Christmas.  It’s complete and ready to use with the Stamper, Font and Damask Borders.  I have plenty in stock.

Now, for the how-to on the boxes:

Box Base:  Using a 6 x 6 sheet of DP, score 2″ in from all 4 edges.  Cut slits for tabs, fold and tape.

Box Top:  Using a coordinating sheet of DP, cut it to 4 1/16 x 4 1/16.  Score 1″ in from all 4 edges.  Cut slits for tabs, fold and tape.  Your top will fit perfectly!

Thanks much for stopping in today.  I’ve been so incredibly busy I haven’t had a lot of time to create, and I surely miss it.  It felt so good to sit and make these little boxes tonight.  I have more box ideas to share with you as well, so hope to get to them next week.  Thank you so much — wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

Hi Sharon, very nice boxes. I love making boxes too. It just amazes me that we can start with a flat piece of paper and create something 3-D that is beautiful and functional.

Here is my box creation. Thanks for having this challenge. I had a lot of fun creating these.
