A Gift for Emily

Emily is a 6 year old crafter. When I spotted this book by American Girl on Button Crafts at Michaels earlier in the fall, this gift idea immediately popped into my head, and today it finally got completed!

To go along with the book I filled a clear bucket with buttons by Basic Grey and Rusty Pickle and decorated it up with ribbon by May Arts.  I purchased the wooden letters also from Michaels.  My original intent was to decorate them all, but once I started — it came to mind that I WAS preparing this as a gift for a crafy little girl, so why not let HER decorate the rest of her name — after all, I don’t need to have all the fun!

This is the fun book I found at Michaels.  I would have loved this when I was young –in fact, I found it rather fun at my ripe old age!  LOL!!!!

I hope Emily has fun decorating the rest of her name.

I used Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue from Wal-Mart for this entire project.  The pink gingham bow was made with the Bow Easy.

A good use for little scraps of ribbon.  Tying these on was the most time consuming part.

I used a Circle Nestie to cut the paper top, then just glued on buttons.  Emily is also getting a nice assortment of ribbons with her gift, but I just didn’t get them cut and organized yet.
