Stamp Simply #128 – With Sympathy

With Sympathy – Today’s challenge is to make a sympathy card.  I seem to always be out of them, even though I make them often.  And when we need sympathy cards, it is usually without much notice.  So let’s add to our stash of sympathy cards today.  I know everyone is always looking for ideas for these cards that are not always the easiest to make — so let’s help each other out and let our ideas flow!

Remember to use Mr. Linky below!

Anyone is welcome and invited to play!  SCS Keyword is ssnotime128 for those who upload at SCS.  There is no time limit. You can play this challenge  anytime at all.  The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!! Please link back here using Mr. Linky below.

Announcement:  And do you notice one name missing from our link list?  Yes, it’s Julie Koerber, Out to Impress.  Julie was the very first to join me in making samples for this challenge.  She wrote probably about 2 years ago to offer her services as a sample maker.  Gosh, someone actually wanted to help with my challenges — I was amazed!!!  Needless to say, I jumped at the chance and I can’t tell you how I hate to see Julie leave.  But Julie has her hands full in many other endeavors and we all know about time constraints, so we just wish Julie our best and hope she comes to play along with us sometime, just for fun!  THANK YOU, JULIE!  You will be missed!!!

Please bear with us all as we each upload and link on Thursday night.  Everyone should be up and set by Friday morning.

You may see all SCS Gallery Submissions here.

And here’s my sympathy card for today:

This is, without question, the most unusual sympathy card I have ever made.  But today it just seemed right.  I made this card for a mother and her young children, mourning the loss of their husband/father.  When I saw this sheet of paper with the air balloons floating up into the sky, I thought it just perhaps may fit the bill, so I tried.  I find these balloons to be somewhat peaceful drifting up, so I hope the recipients do as well.

I used a simple but comforting sentiment from JustRite’s Thinking of You.  This is my *go to* set when I need a sympathy card.  It is made to fit the Large Oval Stamper, but today I merely stamped my sentiment and used my paper cutter to cut a rectangular shape, punching my corners with the SU Ticket Corner Punch.  I thought this Fancy Tag by Spellbinders fit well with the paper so I layered it under the sentiment.

Please keep Shannan and her children in your prayers as they try to continue on.

Sharon, this is a lovely, peaceful card. I’ve been in a hot air balloon and there is a quiet peace (except when it’s firing, of course) when simply floating above the earth. There’s a feeling that even speech is unnecessary.
