Stamp Simply #138 – Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day – Since this is Mother’s Day weekend, let’s do a card or project for Mother’s Day.  I realize many of you may have your Mother’s Day projects complete already, so in that case make your card or project suitable for a woman for any occasion you desire.  Just make sure it’s a VERY female oriented project!  That’s it!  Can’t wait to see.

I’m going to use this card for my Mom for Mother’s Day even though it has no sentiment on it.  I’m going to write my message on the inside.  I used a JustRite set I love, Just a Little Caffeine, and rather than cutting and mounting it round as it comes, I chose to cut and frame it using my Spellbinders Label 4 Nestabilities.  My fun paper is from Thrift Shop by October Afternoon.

A closer peek!  I colored my cup and saucer with Copics, applied the brown chalk ink directly from the pad, a little cat’s eye, and my buttons are sewn right on with the 1/4″ Ivory Silk Ribbon.  My large bow on top is a single bow made on the largest legs of the Bow Easy.

On a personal note:  We got some rather disheartening news today on my Dad.  His toes have been turning black — VERY black.  He saw an orthopaedic surgeon today and they are being amputated first thing tomorrow morning — all of them, on the left foot.  Hopefully this will work. If not, they’ll have to go part way up the leg.  And they say the toes on the other foot aren’t looking the best either, but they are leaving them for now.  And he had been coming along so well with his PT, hoping to be released to home real soon.  They say this was caused from the heart cath he had that went up in the groin area.  I don’t quite get it, but that’s what they say.

I know there are a lot of you prayer warriors out there — PLEASE keep my Dad in your prayers.  Prayer IS powerful and effective, as has been evidenced in the last 3 weeks with my Dad’s situation.  I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your prayers, both past and continuing.  It means more to me than I’ll ever be able to express.  Thank you so very much.

Thanks so much for stopping in again today!  Be sure to check out all the DT links above for some GREAT inspiration, and play along if you can!  Have a wonderful weekend every one — see you real soon!!!

Sharon, your card is so lovely! I am always inspired when I come by, but after reading about your Dad just wanted to assure you I will be praying for him. I am sorry to hear of the latest news and will pray for his spirit to stay strong. It is so difficult to see our parents’ health fail, I know!

I am so sorry to hear about your dad’s latest health crisis. It must be so tough for all of you. I suppose the cath could have caused scar tissue or enough damage to the vessel to cause blockage and cut off the circulation to his feet. I will keep you all in my prayers.

In the meantime, I know stamping is excellent mental therapy and your mom will just love her beautiful card made with so much love. Your friend, nancy
