Stamp Simply #140 – Gone Askew!

Gone Askew – Today’s challenge is something I like to fall back on if I’m in a super hurry to make a card because it’s just so easy — place your focal image askew on your card — no trying to center it or mat it perfectly — just place it askew.  I love this look and it just doesn’t get any easier!!!  I’m so anxious to see your askew creations!

And when you play please be sure to link up to Mr. Linky below!

Anyone is welcome and invited to play!  SCS Keyword is ssnotime140 for those who upload at SCS.  There is no time limit. You can play this challenge  anytime at all.  The point is to keep it simple, quick and have fun!!!

Here’s my gone askew card for today:

It just doesn’t get any easier than this!  Another card for my SIMPLICITY series.  There is NO tedious matting on this card.  The front is totally covered with DP, wrapped with ribbon and the focal image placed askew on the card top.

My focal image is a sheet from the Birds and Botanicals Journal Note pad, and the designer paper and ribbon are included in my October Afternoon Thrift Shop Kit.    The small bow was made on the Bow Easy.  The sentiment is from I’m So Glad by Wordsworth.   Ink used is VersaFine Onyx Black. All items are available in The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.  Just email me to order – [email protected].  (The glue on my bow is still wet — it really did dry clear — Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue/Wal-Mart).

And that’s it for tonight — it’s late and I’m tired.  And tonight, much as I hate to admit, I locked not only my keys in the car, but ALSO the spare set of keys.  How’s THAT for a dumb move.  It was just one of those days!!!!  On a good note, it happened right in our yard, and my handy DH and DS#3 got the door opened in just a few minutes.  I knew I saved those old metal hangers for a reason!

Have a great weekend everyone!  Thanks for stopping in and see you real soon!

Omigosh, what a day, Sharon! Funny .. or actually not funny … my DH locked his keys in the car today too … and his cell phone too! Unfortunately, his lock-out happened miles and miles from home … you were very lucky!

And oh my, this card is gorgeous, Sharon! That fabulous image, the wonderful DP, and that beautiful ribbon (both sizes!) = a stunning “gone askew” card! Just love it!

The card is lovely – I love the idea of “gone askew”! 🙂
Sorry about your adventure with the car keys – I’ve had a few of those adventures myself! Most recently I accidently locked the car with the keys in the ignition and it was running! Fortunately I had my cell phone in my pocket so my DH could drive over and rescue me! I felt so foolish! It didn’t help that people kept stopping and asking me “What happened?” 🙂

  19. Anita says:

I completely agree…sometimes going “askew” makes all the difference…just adds a little “something” doesn’t it? Thanks for the reminder.
