A Flower for the Tea Room —

— plus a sale on Ribbon by the Spool and Spellbinders dies — but first my card for this week’s Challenge at The Shabby Tea Room.  The challenge was to create something showing how we like to enjoy Fun in the Sun.  Well, I’m not exactly what you would call a real active outdoorsy type — LOL!!!  My idea of a wonderful summer day is when I can relax on my front porch among my flowers with the sun shining warm on my skin!  A good cup of morning coffee on my porch rocker in the sun — gosh, it just doesn’t get any better than that.  My idea of Fun in the Sun probably isn’t too exciting, but it’s what I enjoy — so I tried to reflect that sense of soothing, calm and relaxation in my card.

This card was made with my newest KIT – The Stamp Simply Basic Grey Cappella KITshown here (all contents are listed as well).  I am in LOVE with the soft and pretty prints in the Cappella pad. I paired it up with 7 colors of my 1/2″ Wrinkled Ribbon, plus more!  My sentiment is from Everyday Greetings by Wordsworth.  Wordsworth has some GREAT sentiment sets and I love having a good variety of sentiments on hand.  The Wordsworth sets I carry can be seen on this post.  I used my favorite ink for crisp, dark sentiments — VersaFine Onyx Black.

This fun and easy to use self-sticking flower is included in a pack of 3 in the Cappella KIT I have put together.  I cut two flowers to back it — they are from the Spellbinders die set called Blossoms.  My bow was made of 1/2″ Wrinkled Ribbon on the Bow Easy.

Some GREAT projects to check out:

1)  Here’s a FAB sample you can see of another project done with the Cappella papers.  Check out this GORGEOUS altered frame that Sheery Cheever just posted.  She used the Cappella papers to make her flower as well as cover her frame.  She used the Daisy Head floral dies and Sunflower 2 dies to create her flower/leaves and a Sentiment from the Emily Dickinson Collection set by Wordsworth.  This piece is SO inspiring!!!!  It makes me want to drop everything and make one myself!

2)  Another project I think you might enjoy seeing if you haven’t already, are the totally fun, clever and unique table decorations that Barb Schram made for a wedding party, keeping the children in mind as well!  She combined a HUGE variety of paper pads from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, all seen here, and I’m amazed at how well they all work together on this project.  Barb, you NEVER cease to amaze me with your creative ideas.  What a wonderful way to decorate the tables!!!

3)  And here’s one from Holly posted earlier, that totally knocked my socks off.  She used a set by Wordsworth, that on it’s face I would classify as a masculine set — WELL, I surely stand corrected!  Check out this amazingly gorgeous, feminine beauty made with Poetry of the Earth by Wordsworth.   She also used the Fancy Tags dies by Spellbinders.  An amazing card, Holly — I LOVE it!
