And today I have a project to show you that I really enjoyed doing.  It’s not a card, but a display piece with an easel back.

144-laceysketch-393-360-wm-notime.jpg

I used a sheet from a Webster’s Pages 6×6 Pad I just got in stock – it’s a triple pack collection — Seaside Retreat, Garden Gala & Nature’s Storybook.  I LOVE these Webster’s pages Petite Papers.  So fun and easy to work with and I love the size of the print/pattern!  I followed the sketch, but didn’t want to cut off any my sheet of paper, so I decided to go with a 6×6 display piece. I adhered my 6×6 sheet to the chipboard backing piece that comes in the paper pack – perfect!!!  Way down I’ll show how I made the easel back.  I accented with die cut corners made from the Cuttlebug Vintage Dies and Kaiser Pearls and I used Versa Fine Vintage Sepia Ink.  The sentiment is from a set by Wordsworth – Remembering Victor HugoAll the Wordworth sets I have in stock can be seen here.

And for the vertical element in the sketch, I used two different ribbons.  My Ivory 1.25″ Silk  which has been tea dyed (bow made on the Bow Easy) and the pretty brown vintage looking lace is something new!  I just listed these cards of ribbon by Webster’s Pages to coordinate with their papers.  I have 3 different cards of ribbon.  Here’s the one I used on this project:

It is called Garden Gala/Seaside Retreat and sells for $6.95.   It has 6 different ribbons/trims, 1 yard each, for a total of 6 yards.  FUN stuff.  I only have a limited amount and I see my supplier now is out of stock again.  I’ll try to get more, but it may be a while.  Though I’ve had these ribbons for several months, I was waiting for the paper.  After 4 months, it finally arrived this week!!!  So I’m a happy camper today — paper AND ribbon cards to match!!!  Life is good!

And here’s the paper pack – Webster’s Pages Triple Pack Collection — Seaside Retreat, Garden Gala and Nature’s Storybook.  It’s 6×6 and sells for $5.95Please click here to see the other new paper pack and ribbon cards — I’m loading them at the moment, so please have patience if they aren’t there yet.

As I said above I adhered my 6×6 sheet to the chipboard backing that came in the paper pack, so it’s super sturdy.  To make my easel back for the piece I cut a sheet of heavy cardstock 11 x 5″.  I scored at 3, 6, 9″ and folded it into the triangle shape and adhered to the back of my piece.  Makes up in minutes and is a GREAT and sturdy easel back/base for the display piece.

All items to make this project are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and are all linked above.

Well, that was longer than I expected it to be — thanks for sticking with me if you’re still here!  Now, a few announcements and I’m checking out for the night!  Thanks SO much for stopping in.  Hope you can try out the sketch and remember to use Mr. Linky if you do!  Thanks!! See you soon and have a wonderful weekend!!!

So gorgeous and fancy for such a simple sketch. I am leaving in 5 days for a 15 day trip to Norway with our eldest DD Jeani. We will be visiting family in 2 diff. areas with a 200+ reunion in one and family dinner in the other with lots of train/boat touring in between. Jeani and I have been planning our trip for 3 years. Jeani is the genealogist in the family. No stamping for awhile, but I am sure I will return inspired by the culture, family gatherings and beautiful country. Happy Stamping and wish your dad well. Your friend, nancy
