Papers and Ribbons (on sale) Oh My!

Many more new papers arrived this week and I am running a sale on May Arts ribbon when purchased BY THE SPOOL!  15% off ALL May Arts ribbons when purchased BY THE SPOOL for the ENTIRE month of September.  Pair up a spool or two of ribbon with your favorite Christmas paper and get going on those holiday cards!  Oh, to get them done and out of the way early would be a dream come true for me!!!  And if you do have questions on how well a certain ribbon may coordinate with a particular pad of paper, please don’t hesitate to ask!  Putting together colors is my favorite thing to do — I’d love to help!

Here’s a Christmas card I just made with simplicity and mass production in mind:

I used Christmas Past Designer Paper by Graphic 45 (shown below).  This is a vintage pad filled with images you can cut out (as I did here) and coordinating prints.  I love combining prints!  I elevated my cut out image with dimensionals and I backed it with cardstock to give it a bit more stability.  This card is a bit larger than the standard A-2.  It is 6″ x 4.5″ and fits the envelopes I pick up at Wal-Mart called Invitation Envelopes.  Those envelopes are large enough to hold a 4 x 6 photo and as I often enclose a photo with a Christmas card it works great!

Just a closer shot of that pretty image.  I used 100% Silk Ribbon, 1.25″ wide, in Ivory for my bow, which is a double bow made on the Bow Easy.  It is glued on with Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue from any craft or Wal-Mart type store.  It’s still my favorite for gluing on bows (and it’s very inexpensive).  I used 2 pink Kaiser Rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.  The wide Crochet Lace is adhered to the card front with narrow Scor-Tape.  I ran it up the side of the card under the lace so it prevents the cut edge of the lace from ravelling.

All ribbon purchased by the spool is 15% off throughout the remainder of September.  All prices listed on my ribbon page are full priced.  Your invoice will reflect the 15% discount.  As an example, a spool of 1.25″ Silk sells for $44 at full price.  Wide Silk spools will be $37.40 for the duration of the sale.  The wide Crochet Lace sells for $20 a spool, making it $17 for the duration of the sale.  It’s a great time to stock up!

To order ribbon, paper or any items, just email me at [email protected] with your list, your state/zip OR country and I’ll get back to you.

I’m so glad you stopped in today!  I hope you are having nicer weather than we are — gosh, less than a week ago we had it in the 90’s with high humidity and we were all complaining it was too hot,  and the last few days have dipped into the 40s’ at night, 50’s during the days, lots of rain and wind and the furnaces are running!  I guess it’s that time of year!!!!  But I know we still have a lot of gorgeous autumn days to look forward to!!!  Hope you are enjoying this Labor Day Weekend!  See you soon!

  9. […] And as for Christmas KITS, I do have others in mind, but this is the only one ready so far!  I used Graphic 45’s Christmas Past in 8×8.  I kept simple creations in mind when choosing the ribbon — some wide Crochet Lace and wide Silk.  A simple bow on some pretty paper without a lot of fuss is a great way to create a classy Christmas card that doesn’t take a lot of time.  I added some Kaiser Rhinestones for that festive holiday glitz! Click here to see one very simple card I did a week or so ago using these items.
