JustRite 12 Weeks Of Christmas Blog Hop #5

Welcome to JustRite Stampers’ newest Wednesday feature, 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hops #5!   Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite’s entire Christmas Collection of stamps!  This week, it’s the Stamp Simply design team!  So mark your calendars for Wednesdays at 9am Central for great Christmas gift, card & project ideas, starting at the JustRite Inspiration blog!

And here’s my project for today — a set of coordinated Christmas cards and one small tag used on a gift box:

When I think of making Christmas cards, the one thing that comes to mind first and foremost is SIMPLICITY.  Life is busy for all of us, so I like to keep the designs simple enough that it still remains fun and not a chore!  And JustRite hit the nail on the head for me and my personal style this year when they came out with Christmas Nested Sentiments.  This is a set of eight beautifully scripted Christmas sentiments made to coordinate with the JustRite Nested Frames series, specifically Christmas Nested Frames.  The Nested series of stamps work beautifully with the Set of 2 Clear Horizontal Stampers, allowing you to see exactly where you are stamping.  All Nested Frames and Nested Sentiment sets are totally interchangeable. Today I chose to use Christmas Nested Sentiments alone as the focal point of each card.

This card is A6 sized.  It fits into the envelopes I pick up at Wal-Mart called Invitation Envelopes.  I enjoy this size card for many reasons — it gives me just a bit more room that I often feel I need (or like) AND this size envelope allows you to slip in a 4 x 6 photo.  The photo fits in perfectly and how many of us send photos with our Christmas cards?  I know I do.

This card is a standard A2 sized and it’s in my favorite elongated orientation.  The sentiments from Christmas Nested Sentiments are SO pretty they can easily stand on their own as the focal point of the card — and I like that!  I cut them all with one of my favorite Spellbinders dies – Labels 4 Nestabilities.  Just one amber Kaiser Rhinestone accents each card by creating the dot on the *i* in Christmas.

This card is also a standard A2 size, tent fold. All cards have an Antique Gold 100% Silk Bow (May Arts Ribbon), made on the Bow Easy.  They are quick to make and are glued on with Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue — it is inexpensive, it holds tight, and dries clear!  And if you’ll notice, the striped panels on each card are edged with an 18 kt Gold Krylon Leafing Pen.  Again, for the sake of simplicity, I didn’t go overboard edging everything in sight –one panel only — it’s enough to lend an elegant touch without being so much as to make it labor intensive.

And this one was super fun!  It’s a small 3 x 3″ card, or tag.  I’m using it as a gift tag and attached it to a gift box that I wrapped in inexpensive foil Christmas wrap.  For the outside I cut out one of the images from my paper pad (Christmas Past by Graphic 45), edged it in gold leaf and created my tag top.  This time I used my sentiment from Christmas Nested Sentiments on the inside of the card — take a look:

Perfect for the inside!  And take a look at the package front.

What a pretty and easy way to give a small gift a little bit of that WOW factor!
