Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style – Velvet HOP

Welcome to our regular Saturday feature — Ribbon Inpsiration/Stamp  Simply Style — and

{{{HAPPY WORLD CARD MAKING DAY, EVERYONE}}}

As usual, we have a Blog Candy offering for our regular Saturday feature; however, in honor of World Card Making Day, we thought it would be fun to give our cards away today.  So separate from the Blog Candy offering, each BLOG in today’s HOP will also be drawing one commentor who will win a card from that blogger.  How FUN to get a card in the mail that you didn’t have to make but can use when needed!!!  So, commenting on each blog participating today gives you a chance at the Blog Candy offered AND a chance at the card shown as the give-away on each blog — double the fun!!!  More about the Blog Candy at the end of this post.

Today our featured ribbon is Velvet Ribbon –oooohhh, how absolutely lush!!!  I have long been a fan of velvet, year round, but especially at this time of year I just love the warmth, texture and total luxury that velvet adds to a project.  Here’s a very simple card I made for today with 2 types of velvet ribbon:

I used 3/4″ Velvet (brown) and 1/8″ Velvet (teal).

The paper is Forever Fall 6×6 by Bo Bunny.  It’s a pad with mostly typical autumn colors, but it has SUCH lovely turquoise colors in it as well, I just HAD to take advantage of those sheets!  I think the tree works in so well, too, for this card which can be used for a sympathy card or a card for someone needing much encouragement.

All Bo Bunny Collections can be seen here.

Verve Plain Jane – Isaiah 61:3see all Plain Jane stamps here.

Spellbinders Labels FourVersa Fine Vintage Sepia Ink.

The velvet looks so rich — I love it!

Card is 4.75 x 6.5″ to fit perfectly inside an A6 Clear Box for protection and presentation.

The 3/4″ Velvet is cut at the edges of the paper.  The 1/8″ Velvet is wrapped around to the back.

Scor Tape was used to first adhere the 3/4″ Velvet, and then a 1/8″ Scor Tape strip was run across the 3/4″ Velvet, making it very quick and easy and lay the 1/8″ Velvet on top.

Bow is made on the Bow Easy with 100% Silk Ribbon, 1.25″ wide White.

Kaisercraft Pearls.

Flower is a Prima Trellis Rose in Fontaine. Using a darning needle I just spread glue on the petal tips and applied glitter. The sparkle doesn’t show up much in the photo, but is very pretty in real life!  So simple and it adds so much.

Stamp Simply Deluxe Embellishment Kit – Teal

This is one of many Kits I have available.  Just wanted to show it to you today, as you will note I used the Velvet Ribbon, Silk Ribbon, Trellis Rose and Snow Pearls from this Kit on today’s card.  Only a very, very small portion of the Kit contents were used on this card.  The Kits contain ample supplies for your crafting pleasure.

See the Stamp Simply Deluxe Embellishment Kit – Teal here.

See all Stamp Simply Kits (including Kits with paper pads) hereMany are on sale as I still  strive to obtain more valuable shelf space!

If you like the ease of creating from Kits, you may like these brand name manufactured Kits as well.
