O Christmas Tree (and a Winner!)

There are two new items I’ve been just chomping at the bit to use — and today was the day!!!  But first let’s announce the winner from Saturday’s Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style  Hop.  This week the winner was chosen from Michelle Woerner’s Blog, and the winner selected by random.org from Michelle’s blog is:

 irishgalkelly

Huge CONGRATS! to you, irishgalkelly!  Please email me at [email protected] to claim your prize and provide me with your mailing address.  Thank you so much for playing along with us and thanks to ALL who play each week — your participation makes it fun for all of us!!!  irishgalkelly won a selection of  pleated and other ribbon by May Arts.  You can check out our Pleated/Ruffled Ribbon Inspiration post here if you missed it, and you can see the prize winnings there as well.  Consider joining us each Saturday — it’s fun and, hopefully, inspirational!

I have a Christmas card to share today, made with 2 products I’ve been just itching to use — the paper, Lost and Found Christmas by My Mind’s Eye, and O Christmas Tree clear stamp set by JustRite.

When it comes to Christmas cards, I DO try to be practical (sometimes!).  As much as I LOVE my big fluffy bows and multiples of Prima flowers on a card front, when it comes to mass producing Christmas cards things such as time, cost to make and cost to mail MUST be taken into consideration.  This card was made with those things in mind and I’ll be sharing a lot more cards in the near future for Christmas along these lines.  This card is square and it does cost more to mail a square card than a rectangle card, so that is something to consider as well when mass producing cards to mail.  But I just LOVE the look of a square card — always have — so a square card here and there is A-OK in my book — LOL!!!

This card is 5.5″ square and made to fit perfectly into the 5.5″ Square Clear Boxes I carry and so highly recommend, both for protecting your cards before you use them AND for a WOW presentation!

Here’s a close up of the detail.  It’s a fairly flat card with interest coming from the design in the paper, the die cut shapes (tree and scallops around the tree, pennant banners hanging on left and the star on tree top), as well as that little bit of ringlet trim, and of course, a little bit of sparkly bling.

Here’s the card inside using coordinating paper from the same pad.

Store News

Just wanted to share one of my favorite categories in the store — BUTTONS.  There are so many pretty buttons added to match various papers — as well as all the gorgeous cameos and silhouettes — easy ways to add such a pretty, vintage touch to your projects!  Just a few samples are shown above.
