The 12 Days of a Clean and Simple Christmas – Stamp Simply Style – Day Two

We are back for Day 2 with some more CAS creations for Christmas.  Today I did a couple of super CAS cards, and then I took those same cards one step further to make them NOT QUITE so CAS — LOL – just HAD to!!!

These are the two CAS cards I made – both the same.  They are standard A2 size, 5.5″ x 4.25″, and they fit easily into a standard envelope, being totally flat.

This pretty paper is, of course, Webster’s Pages — Waiting for Santa/Sweet Season.  It is SO pretty in typical Webster’s style that it doesn’t need a lot of adornment to make it look pretty — it’s pretty all on its own.

I used a wood mount stamp by Wordsworth – Noel Script — and stamped directly onto the designer paper.  It’s important to use a good, dark ink pad when doing this to get a sharp, crisp sentiment.  My favorite is Versa Fine Onyx Black.  Those pads are very well inked and dark, they stamp crisply and they last FOREVER — and I DO mean almost forever.  I’m on the same pad that I started I don’t know how many years ago and it’s still inking my stamps very well.

You can see all Wordsworth stamps in stock here.

OK, now we move on to the same cards, just gussied up a bit!

I added 1/4″ 100% Silk Ribbon by May Arts  in Burgundy, Prima Fairytale Roses in French White, and Kaisercraft Rhinestones in Black.

I added a small bow and rose here in the upper corner.  The bow was made on the Bow Easy.  With the addition of this rose the card no longer fits well into a paper envelope, so now I’d use an A2 Clear Box for these gussied up cards.

On this card I wrapped the ribbon around the card, hand tied the bow and glued on the rose.  I used Scor Tape to keep the ribbon in place.  I just ran a length of 1/8″ Scor Tape across the card front before wrapping my ribbon around it — now the ribbon is sure not to slip.

And here are the insides using my favorite go-to set for Christmas sentiments.  I’m so sad to see this set retired, but I do have some still in stock — but once they’re gone, they’re gone — s0 sorry.  It is Christmas Nested Sentiments by JustRite, requiring the Clear Rectangle Stamper Set for use.  They coordinate with the Christmas Nested Frames set, which is also retiring.   Both sets are on sale.

If you like the Webster’s Pages style and products (I personally love them), you can see all items in stock here.

All items used are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked above.

On a personal note, I have some used SU sets for sale — see the TAB above my blog header – or click here.

I have recently cut those prices by 50%.  I’ll leave them there f0r a few days yet, and then I’ll remove the TAB and donate the stamps locally. So if you are interested in any, the time to ask about them is now as they will be gone soon.  Email me at [email protected] with inquiries.

Hey Sharon!! I am enjoying these CAS Christmas ideas…the thought of simplicity at the holidays is refreshing!! 😉 I make cards with residents at a local nursing home once a month and I struggle with cleaner/simpler styles for them. I know they will be excited about Christmas cards, so I plan on staying tuned throughout all twelve days for ideas–maybe we’ll be able to accomplish more than one for the holidays, if I can keep them simple enough. I think they would love that!! Thanks so much for sharing!!

Very Pretty! It looks like an expensive florist delivered a Christmas floral for your home!

  12. Seriously. Did they think no one was going to find out. This isn’t even a good rip of . I almost thought they acquired Looklet or something until I realized how shitty the quality was.

  13. Classy, great idea to make the paper do the work for you. Beautiful job.
