Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style – Wrinkled/Crushed

It’s Saturday and time for some Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style.  Today we are focusing on both Wrinkled and Crushed Ribbon, and I’ll get right to it:

Today I made a trio of very CAS, quick and easy cards where a Holiday Silhouette by Webster’s Pages takes center stage, but the ribbon and bows are in close competition!  Though these cards are clean and simple to make, they are not suitable for mailing in a paper envelope.  They’ll need to be put into an A2 Clear Box,which makes a SUPER presentation.

For these 3 cards, the ribbon is wrapped around the card font, secured a bit with Scor Tape so it won’t slip, and the bows are tied by hand.

This card uses the Dark Wreath Silhouette — and I’m linking all the Silhouettes generically for you as each Silhouette is available in a pack of 6 of the same kind OR in a variety pack.  All cardstock used is SU Very Vanilla, and on this one I’ve also used SU Chocolate Chip.  The brown ribbon is 1.5″ Silky Crushed Ribbon.  I am so pleased to have a good dark brown ribbon on hand that looks this luxurious.

This card uses the Gold Candle Silhouette and 1.5″ Silky Crushed Ribbon in Gold.  When comparing to the next card, you’ll see that the Silky Crushed Ribbon is a bit lighter and fluffier than the Wrinkled Ribbon shown next.  I didn’t have cardstock in the right color, so that bottom mat layer on this is cut from a piece of paper in the 6×6 pad from My Mind’s Eye called Sunshine.

Our last one uses the Red Candycane Silhouette and Real Red cardstock by SU. On this card I used the 1.5″ Wrinkled Ribbon in red.  The red on this ribbon just matched the red on the candycane a bit better than the red in the Silky Crushed ribbon did, plus it gives you a chance to compare the two ribbons.  This ribbon is a bit stiffer and the bow will lay flatter on your card than the ribbon used on the two cards above.  They are both great ribbons for large bows, just a little different look.  The Wrinkled Ribbon also comes in 1/2″ size.

Just talking a little about ribbon, I think many of you who stop here often know that my true love of all ribbon is the 100% Silk by May Arts — truly, there is nothing that can quite compare — but if I had to pick a 2nd, it would most definitely be the 1.5″ Silky Crushed Ribbon shown on the top two cards above.  It has such a rich, pretty and vintage look that I love at a very affordable price. It is only available in this one width, but if you want a piece not quite so wide, this ribbon cuts lengthwise just beautifully — so you can make yourself a ribbon in any width you like!  It just adds to that vintage look.

All items used are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked above.

Now I’ll just share a few older pictures where I’ve used these ribbons so you can see more of the colors.

Rose Silky CrushedGabrielle by Bo Bunny pad read more here.

Burgundy Silky Crushed and Burgundy 1/2″ WrinkledReflections pad by Prima Stamps by JustRite (Greetings from Paris) - read more here.

On this swag I used Silky Crushed Wired ribbon, which is perfect for home decor projects or gift wrapping where you want to shape and hold large bows.  I have it doubled up with 6″ Bridal Tulle.  We used this exact Pink Silky Crushed Wired Ribbon and Pink Bridal Tulle to make the pew bows for Steve and Marissa’s wedding, using the Bigger Bow Easy. The Bigger Bow Easy was also used to make the bow on this swag — just leave super long ribbon tails that you then turn and twine to suit your fancy.

Today’s Blog  Candy is 1 yard each of the full range of 1.5″ Silky Crushed Ribbon by May Arts.  All colors are shown above, so that is a total of 21 yards of this lush ribbon! (Navy is not shown in the photo, but is available)

This is a Mystery Blog Candy, meaning the winner will be drawn from comments on one of today’s participating blogs, so leaving a comment on each blog will greatly increase your chances of winning, but only one comment per blog, please.  The winner will be selected at 6 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, October 25 and will be posted here on my blog on Wednesday, so please check back to claim your prize if you are the lucky winner!  Good luck!

I have tried and tried to order from your website. It just locks up everytime. It does this on different computers, so I don’t think it’s my computer doing it. Any other way I can order? Sorry to post this on your blog, but I couldn’t find another way to reach you.

    • Hi Barbara:

I’m sorry you are having problems, but I have no explanation. I get orders all day long, so there is no problem with the site — but still, my apologies.

Just send me an email, [email protected], as to what you would like and I’ll send you a PayPal invoice.

I’ll wait to hear from you.

      Thanks!

For those who have ever seen a pair of genuine Louboutin shoes within the flesh, you possibly reeled if you saw them, after which practically fainted at the cost, but not so with Christian Louboutin Barbie shoes.
