The 12 Days of a Clean and Simple Christmas – Stamp Simply Style – Day Ten

Welcome to Day 10 of our series on CAS Christmas cards.  Today I went with classic black and white.

These cards are both made with the same set — a clear set by Wordsworth called Messiah.  The set has a total of 7 stamps, and I’ve used 6 of them today.

All stamps by Rubber Soul/Wordsworth can be seen here.  Many of the Christmas clear sets are at reduced prices, including the set I used today.

I’ve grouped these 5 stamps onto one acrylic block, allowing me to come up with any formation I like.  It would be very easy to create something similar in a square format for a square card as well.

Using an acrylic block with grid lines makes it much easier to apply your stamps to it and get them nice and straight.

All acrylic blocks in stock can be seen here.

This 4 x 5″ rectangle and this Large Round Quad have grid marks as  well as finger grips.

This card is 5.5″ square and uses the dove stamp from the same set, Messiah.

The only embellishment added to these cards are the Kaisercraft Rhinestones – Red and Dark Green.

3D Foam Squares are used for a bit of elevation, but they could be made totally flat for mailing if you prefer.  If I were going to make this square card totally flat, I would add another black mat layer beneath the last white square to define it. Here it is defined because it is elevated — I think if it were made totally flat, another layer of black would just define it better in that situation.

Using a crisp, black ink is essential for good results.  My preference in black ink is Versa Fine Onyx Black.  These pads last nearly forever — truly!  Reinkers are also available.

And that’s it for today — CAS, quick and easy, black and white!

All items used are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as listed above.

  9. Hi Sharon~

THESE are Christmas cards in the best way…to me! Christmas is the celebration of Jesus birth here on earth. These cards celebrate who He is in such a stunning way! I love the black and white with a drop of red! The single red rhinestone first struck me as His blood–symbolizing His blood covering us. Stunning! And, I love the dove…with the green rhinestones. These are incredible! I love them!

    Thanks for sharing!
