CAS Embossed Merry Christmas and a Winner!

Today I have a clean and simple embossed Christmas card to share, but first let’s announce the winner from last Saturday’s Ribbon Inspiration which focused on White on White creations.  The winner was chosen this week from Holly McMillen’s Blog, and the winner chosen was:

Wanda Cullen

Congratulations to you, Wanda. Please email me at [email protected] with your address to claim your prize!  Wanda won this selection of white and ivory ribbon from the scrap bin at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store:

And now on to my clean and simple Christmas card for today:

I LOVE this new cling background stamp by JustRite called Scrolled Vine Background.  It’s large at 4.5 x 5.75″.  After stamping the image, I cut it down a bit so I’d have room to mat the image, but the stamp is large enough to cover the entire card front when making a standard 4.25 x 5.5″ card. Gotta love that!

In fact, I didn’t have an acrylic block large enough so I used the next best thing — the B plate from my Cuttlebug– worked like a charm!  I should have some acrylic blocks large enough in stock soon, but until then, the B plate it is!

Just a closer look at all the gorgeous detail in this stamp.

Red Kaisercraft Rhinestone

I can see myself doing a TON with this stamp in the future — rather than using a sentiment, I see that empty band as the PERFECT place to run a beautiful ribbon with bow and hanging tag.  And using only 1/2 the stamp is another option, leaving more white space on your card front.  This stamp makes into a beautiful, elegant Christmas card, but I also see it as absolutely perfect for wedding cards and sympathy cards as well as so many others.   OH, how I WISH I had more time to play, but I do KNOW you’ll be seeing more from me with this beautiful stamp, for sure!

    What a beautiful card Sharon!

  10. This card is amazing! And, you are so right, it would look great with a ribbon or bow in the sentiment spot…and save the sentiment for the inside!

  13. […] I LOVE this stamp.  Here it is used as a Christmas card, but can be used equally as well for wedding, sympathy or any number of occasions.  And rather than stamp a sentiment in that white space, I think it calls for a beautiful ribbon to be run across with a few roses and a tag hanging.  Or how about using only 1/2 the stamp?  Versatility — that’s why I love this stamp, on top of it gorgeously beautiful scrolls and flourishes!  You can see more photos/details and find links to product on this post.
