Now on to my project for today – this one was totally fun to create and I can’t wait to make some more.

Rather than making an entire banner, I used only 1 pennant to create an individual wall hanging.  This was SO FUN to do!!!  I love hanging these type of projects on cabinet knobs or hooks around the house and they make GREAT and VERY do-able little gifts to give.

The base is an MDF Board Pennant (5 per pack, I only used 1) by Kaisercraft.

Paper used is by Melissa Frances from the Deck the Halls Collection 

I traced the pennant onto the designer paper, cut out, applied with glue, let dry, sanded the edges and then decorated away.  I did color the edges of my MDF Board pennant green with a Copic. 

The paper rosette was made using 2 strips of 6″ paper from the same pad, each cut 1.5″ wide.  Each strip was scored using my Scor-It Mini every 1/4″, then accordian folded on the score lines.  The 2 strips had to be attached together with Scor Tape.  If you’ve never done a flower like this you can check out this Fan Fold Flower tutorial at SCS — it’ll give you a good visual of how to create this fun flower.

On the top of the pennant I used the Deck the Halls Cardstock Banners and topped them off with 2 rows of 1/4″ Ringlet Trim in green and ivory, adhering all with 1/8″ Scor Tape.

1.25″ Silk Ribbon in ivory is run through the pre-drilled holes as the hanger.  The largest punch on my Cropodile fits the pre-drilled holes perfectly, so once they are covered with the paper I’m able to use my Cropodile to punch through those holes so the paper has a perfectly fitted and formed hole.

The sentiment is from Christmas Mini  Sentiments by JustRite, stamped with Versa Fine Onyx Black Ink onto a hand cut banner.  These petite Mini Sentiments have become my go-to sentiments this year – I totally LOVE them.  All the mini sentiments can be seen here, along with items that go with them.

The Deck the Halls pad I used was 6×6, so the very tip of the pennant didn’t get covered with paper.  To remedy that sitaution I just cut off one of the tiny pennants from the strip of Cardstock Banners and glued it to the bottom tip, then used the same ringlet trim to top it off.  I am VERY disappointed with how the photos turned out — the green ringlet trim is just as pretty and crisp as the ivory trim, but you’d never know it looking at these photos — my apologies.
