CAS Christmas Stockings and a Winner!

Today I have a fun trio of Christmas stockings that I finally got a chance to play with, but before we get to that let’s annouce the winner from Saturday’s Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply  StyleLast week’s challenge focused on Tags.  The blog candy winner was chosen this week from Barb’s Blog, and she is

Karen McAlpine

Huge congrats! to you, Karen.  Please contact me at [email protected] with your address to claim your prize, which can be seen here.

Thank you for playing, Karen, and thanks to all who came, hopped and played along.  We love your participation!  Please join us each Saturday for this regular feature. If you’d care to check out the previous week’s projects, they are always linked on my left sidebar under Ribbon Inspiration.

Now here are the cards I made today, using a trio of coordinated Christmas stockings by Penny Black.

I’ll start with this one that is white on white — I always like that look!

The mat layer is Silver Silk cardsock.

The stamps are 3 separate wood mount stamps by Penny Black – Stockings in Striped, Scroll or Checkered.

These were hard to photo — I’m trying to show you the glitter here.

Each stocking is stamped in Versa Mark, embossed with Super Fine Embossing Powder in Silver, using a Heat Gun.

I then used a Quickie Glue Pen to quickly color in the cuffs and some on the stocking (nothing time consuming, just get a little glue on the white parts) and then I sprinkled with Ultra Fine Translucent Crystal Glitter.

All designer paper used on the remaining cards is from Basic Grey’s Nordic Holiday.  It is filled with warm, homey, wintery prints, reflective of the pad title.  Love this pink print — reminds me of a warm and cozy winter sweater.

Nordic Holiday is on ON SALE at 15% OFF today and tomorrow (Wednesday and Thursday).

This is a gorgeous poinsettia print — rich and beautiful.

The bow is made on the original Bow Easy using 3/8″ Solid Edge Metallic in White/Silver.

The focal images are popped up with 3D Foam Squares.

I used Kaisercraft Rhinestones at the stocking tops.

Another fun print in the pad — this one in blue tones.

I cut the designer paper strip 2″ wide — allowing me to make 3 similar cards from one sheet of 6×6 paper.

And here’s a tree-filled green print.

The card insides are simply stamped with Merry Christmas 2 a wood mount stamp by Rubber  Soul/Wordsworth.

And that’ll do it for today’s clean and simple cards!

All items used are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked above.
