Year in Review 2011 – Part 2

Published by at 10 59 am under Year in Review

Today I’m back with Part 2 of my 2011 Year In Review.  If you missed Part 1,  you can see it here.   Today focuses on cards that are quicker to make and/or more clean and simple.  Here they are:

If I had to pick one favorite from today’s post, this would be it, no doubt!  This card showcases my favorite colors, paper style, layout and orientation, ribbon, roses and simplistic but elegant styling.  And as an added bonus, it is quick and easy to make!  You can see more photos and details on this post — but as it was written prior to the opening of the online store, all items are not working links.  You can search for items on the left sidebar of the store.  Many items used to make this card are curently on sale — the paper (individually or in KIT form) and the stamp set.

That beautiful image strip is cut from a sheet in the pad and the button is chipboard to match — ALWAYS LOVE what Webster’s Pages has to offer! You can see more photos/details and find links to product on this post.

This is only 1 of 3 quick and easy, clean and simple, black and white graduation cards shown on the post linked.  I always feel that black and white is the perfect compliment to a clean and simple card.  To me it’s a perfect marriage — AND simple to make!  You can see more photos/details and find links to product on this post.

Beautiful papers — often my mainstay for a quick and easy card.  You can see more photos/details and find links to product on this post.

A quick and easy, but pretty and soothing, sympathy card.  I never have enough sympathy cards on hand.  Real soon I am going to make a box full just to keep on hand.   I’ll share when I do.  You can see more photos/details and find links to product on this post.

Have you ever noticed I use very little colored ink?  It’s mostly just black, brown and Versa Mark for embossing.  It just keeps life simpler in my opinion and I really like the look of crisp, sharp sentiements/images offered by the dark inks.  I do use softer browns for edging to add a distressed look on many projects.

A masculine birthday card — not overly embellished for those men who don’t appreciate all the ribbon, ruffles, roses and fluff we women love to add!  LOL!!!!  You can see more photos/details and find links to product on this post.

Cards like this remind me of my beginning stamping days.  I wanted to learn to stamp to make cards like this.  I still love making them!  You can see more photos/details and find links to product on this post.

I LOVE this stamp.  Here it is used as a Christmas card, but can be used equally as well for wedding, sympathy or any number of occasions.  And rather than stamp a sentiment in that white space, I think it calls for a beautiful ribbon to be run across with a few roses and a tag hanging.  Or how about using only 1/2 the stamp?  Versatility — that’s why I love this stamp, on top of its gorgeously beautiful scrolls and flourishes!  You can see more photos/details and find links to product on this post.

3 x 3 tags.  The ultimate in clean and simple, quick and easy!  I used these for tags for Christmas boxes, but they would work year round on any wrapped bag or box.  You can see more photos/details and find links to product on this post.

Again, back to black and white, black ink only, for a clean and simple look.  Pretty paper, a bit of ribbon and a rhinestone or two finishes it all off.  In the post linked below there is a fun gift bag for these cards — a bit more highly embellished – but totally FUN!  You can see more photos/details and find links to product on this post.

Taking advantage of pretty paper to the max!  Just add a ribbon and a few roses and a rhinestone or two – done!  You can see more photos/details and find links to product on this post.

A sympathy card — pretty because of the lovely paper and the die cut shapes — but totally quick and easy to make.  You can see more photos/details and find links to product on this post.

All item used are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

And that wraps up the 2011 Year in Review posts.

Hope you enjoyed them.  I love putting them together — it’s always fun to go back and pick favorites.

These are all fabulous. I just love looking at your blog because everything you make is absolutely beautiful. It’s finally dawned on me that you don’t add many stamped parts but make such good use of gorgeous paper that nothing else is needed. Looking forward to your posting of sympathy cards. I, too, am always in need of those.
