Welcome to another Saturday of Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style.  Today we are all using Sheer Ribbon.  I’ve had a long love affair with sheer ribbon.  Years back I couldn’t make a card without adding some beautiful, sheer ribbon.  Well, what happened?  I think all the goregous ribbons available today have allowed me to put my beloved sheer ribbon on the back burner — how sad.  Well today sheer is holding center stage — and deservedly so!

Here’s my project for today, each card using some type of sheer ribbon.

I made a trio of cards, all different, but all using the NEW Sunday Picnic collection by Webster’s Pages.

You can see it all in the store here, OR

you can see larger photos on my blog post of yesterday.

All 3 of today’s card are made 6.5″ x 4.75″.  I like that size as they fit perfectly into an A6 Clear Box, both for safe keeping, presentation and mailing.  Additionally, making the cards a bit larger like this allows me to use more of the gorgeous sheets of paper as I have to cut off less, and that’s a good thing!

The paper used on all all cards is Sunday Picnic & Everyday Poetry by Webster’s Pages.

The colored cardstock on this card is SU Blush Blossom.

The cameo, bird and button are from the Sunday Picnic Perfect Accents package.

I did not stamp a sentiment on this, but rather cut a piece of the designer paper — after all, it’s filled with beautiful words of Everyday Poetry!

I used the Nested Lacey Pennants dies to cut my sentiment.

I used 3/8″ Dotted Sheer for my bow in white.  I love the texture that the dots add.

The bow was made on the Original Bow Easy.

The white lace and orange-ish trim are from the Sunday Picnic Trim Card.

I LOVE that white lace.  It is wide and stretchy — very soft — like lingerie elastic — super easy to work with.  To make the ruffles I just ran Scor Tape across the panel front and placed my lace down, hand pleating as I went, using my finger as a measurement to get my pleats even.

I then placed another length of Scor Tape on TOP of my pleats and ran the orange-ish trim on top.  Super quick and easy.  Oopps, actually the paper is on TOP of the pleats, then the orange-ish trim is on top of the paper.

The colored cardstock here is SU Pink Pirouette.

The white lace pleats were done exactly as described above, but on this card I used scrunched up 5/8″ Sheer Loop (that’s the pink).  I LOVE this stuff — so fun.  I’ll describe what I did down further as I show a picture of this ribbon.  It’s SO pretty and girlie looking!

Miss you is from a NEW cling relese by JustRite — Your Special Day Medallion Labels.

The die cut is done with Spellbinders Postage Stamp dies.

Again, the bird is from Sunday Picnic Perfect Accents.

I used 3D Foam Squares for elevation — there are 2 sizes in each package and the tops peel off easily — gotta love that!

The corner die cut is a Cuttlebug die – Vintage Dies.

To easily adhere those small corner flourishes, I run them through my Xyron X — it instantly turns them into a sticker so it’s just a matter of pressing them on — love that!

Ink used is VersaFine Onyx Black.

OK, here’s a closer look at the scrunched up 5/8″ Sheer Loop.  Again, I’ll discuss this below.

The following card uses this same 5/8″ Sheer Loop, but not scrunched.  It was used just as it comes off the spool.

The colored cardstock is SU – an older gray-blue — I’m having a senior moment!

I again used the Cuttlebug Vintage Die in the upper corner.  It’s been a long-time favortie of mine.

I also used another bird in the package of Sunday Picnic Perfect Accents.

OK, see the Sheer Loop?  That’s how it comes off the spool.  I just adhered it with Scor Tape.

There’s a layer of 5/8″ Crochet Lace peeking out from under the blue striped paper.

The bow is made from 1/4″ Silk Ribbon and Fairytale Roses sit atop the bow.

Once again, the sentiment is from a JustRite NEW cling release — Your Special Day Medallion Labels.

And once all 3 cards were done, each was slipped into its own A6 Clear Box.  And since this will be a gift, I took another form of sheer ribbon, 6″ Tulle, and used it to wrap my 3 boxes together — super easy to do with a big impact.

Then I made a quick tag using another sentiment from the same JustRite Set — Your Special Day Medallion Labels.

I used the Charm Dies made by Spellbinders for JustRite to cut and hang my tag.

To coordinate my packaging with the top card that shows through, I used 1/4″ Silk Ribbon in Ivory to hang my tag and Fairytale Roses to finish it off.

And here’s a view of those boxes from the side, all tied together with the 6″ Tulle.

Now I’ll talk about the Sheer Loop Trim.  I’m showing it to you in black only because it’s easier to see.  It is available in many colors.  This is how it comes and it’s fun to use as is.  But if you want that scrunchy look like I did with the pink sheer loop all you have to do is pull a string and it scrunches up easily — once you find the right string — LOL.  You can kind of untwine the center threads and one of them is the right one — it’s just a matter of trial and error.  Also, if that doesn’t work for you, then you can just pull one of the sheer ribbons that makes the loops — that’ll do it as well.  It’s just a matter of experimenting a bit until you find which way you prefer.  I have done it both ways.  You can see all colors available here.

And that’ll do it for this project.

All product in stock by Webster’s Pages can be seen here Much of it is at reduced pricing.

All items used are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked.
