Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style – Red, White & Blue
Welcome! It’s Saturday, so that means another Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style Hop. Today it was a color challenge — red, white and blue — with thoughts of the coming Memorial Day in mind; however, ANY type of project was permissible in this color scheme. I did begin a card for Memoral Day, but my plans were derailed yesterday, as life goes, and it never got completed, so I’ll show you that sometime in the coming week. I did get a card made with some gingham checks and a bit of a country/vintage theme. Here it is:
This card makes use of a cut out image from the Crafty Secrets Image and Journal Note Pads. I have relied on these pads for years. I love to use these sweet vintage images for projects. Not only are they lovely, but they are a true life-saver when time is short.
The image used today is from the Little Dolls Image and Journal Notes Pad.
Designer paper used is all from the Double Dutch 6×6 pad by Lily Bee Design.
All pads by Lily Bee Design can be seen here.
Cardstock used is SU Night of Navy, Real Red and Very Vanilla.
The sentiment used is from a NEW JustRite May release set – Summer Words. Love these JustRite seasonal word sets. This same set was used on yesterday’s wedding card.
Other seasonal word sets are Autumn Words, Winter Words and Spring Words.
My sentiment was cut using Spellbinders Square Nestabilities and elevated with a 3D Foam Square.
Fun prints! I love combining prints! The ribbon used is 7/8″ Gingham Checks in Red.
The bow was made on the Original Bow Easy.
The button is from a Basic Grey Button Pack (on sale) and it’s tied with Burlap String in Natural.
The inside uses the paper from the same pad.
All items used are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked above.

Crafty Secrets Images and Journal Notes
As I said above, I have long loved and used the Journal Notes for quick projects. I do have them listed in the store, but they are very difficult to see with the photos shown in the store — my apologies. I will no longer be stocking these items as they are no longer being produced by Crafty Secrets, so once sold out, they are gone for good. Additionally, I have placed them on sale.
They can all be seen in the store for purchase here.
To help you get a better idea of how beautiful these images are, I thought I’d pull up some old photos of projects I’ve done with them over the years. This will get a bit lengthy — again, my apologies, but it’s the quickest and easiest way for me to show you some of the beautiful images. Here we go:
I LOVED making this card — from the Summertime pack with 1.5″ Grosgrain Stripe.
This is a favorite sketch I haven’t done in a while! From the Summertime pack with 1.25″ Silk Ribbon.
Also from the Summertime pack with 1.25″ Silk Ribbon.
This is from the Little Dolls pack, the same one I used today, with 1.25″ Silk Ribbon and 1.5″ Crochet Lace.
From the Halloween pack with some Chenille Dot Ribbon.
A hanging tag from the Halloween pack with 1.25″ Silk Ribbon.
From the Christmas pack with 1.25″ Silk Ribbon.
An accordian fold tag card made from the Christmas pack.
Another from the Christmas pack with 1.25″ Silk Ribbon. I embossed the sentiment on top of the image.
Two cards from Birds and Botanicals with 1.25″ Silk Ribbon. And yes, I had to open two packs. There is only one of each image per pack.
Another from Birds and Botanicals with 1/2″ Wrinkled Ribbon and 7/8″ Gingham and a scrap of true vintage lace.
Hope these projects give you an idea of how FUN these little image booklets are!

I love Red, White and Blue, but I never know just quite what to make with them. Other than the standard July 4th traditional. But, this card is really beautiful. I love the “old world” feel to it. And the other cards are so pretty; in fact, your cards always inspire me to head over to your store for those “must haves”. I’ll be there shortly again! Thanks for the inspiration! Happy Mother’s Day
I teach a Citizenship class, and I know what I would do with this ribbon if I won! Whenever a student passes their citizenship interview, they get a very special handmade card from me.
