Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style – Weddings

Welcome to our wedding themed hop today – Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style!  You’ll see some GORGEOUS cards by the Stamp Simply designers that I know you’ll love and the blog candy today particularly speaks to my heart.  It’s shown near the end of this post.  Here’s my wedding card for today:

This card is for Ben and Jessie (son and GF) to give for one of many weddings they have to attend this summer.  I think it’s Jessie’s style, so I hope she likes it!

Paper used is a 6×6 pad by Melissa Frances – Attic Treasures (all lovely vintage prints in creams and light brown shades).

All the beautiful items in stock by Melissa Frances can be seen here.

Spellbinders Circle Nestabilities make  this a super easy (and fun) card to create.

The cardstock used is SU Very Vanilla.

This sentiment is perfect for weddings and is from JustRite’s clear set – Botanical Medallions and Banners.  This is one of those sets that I know will get a ton of use with it’s beautiful florals, GORGEOUS banners (with dies to match here and here) and pretty sentiments.

It is stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink.

The Pearl Flourish is by Kaisercraft (I only used a small bit of one flourish).

The border trim used is 1/2″ Loop Trim in Ivory, adhered with 1/8″ Scor Tape.

The ribbon is 1/2″ Seam Binding in Cream – a triple bow made on the Original Bow Easy.

The flowers and leaf are from Prima’s Laraine RosesRiver Rock.

My floral and bow cluster is held together with Aleene’s Tacky Glues (from superstores or craft stores/very inexpensive) – I use all the varieties — today it was the Clear Gel.  I am generous with glue and hold with my fingers until the glue starts to take.  Once dry, the cluster is totally solid and there to stay.

Here’s the inside using paper from the same pad — just to dress it up a bit and tie it into the card front.

Here the card is all boxed up and ready to give in it’s A2 Clear Box.

This card is a tad over the standard 5.5 x 4.25″ card we usually make here in the states.  I wanted to present it in a Clear Box, so I made it just a bit larger so it would fill the Clear Box perfectly.  The card is 5 3/4 x 4 3/8″.  The boxes are made to accomodate a set of cards with envelopes, but as you likely realize, I ALWAYS use them to protect, present and/or mail my cards with bulk from flowers and pretty bows.  They are a life-saver for me, keeping my cards in perfect condition and so easy to organize until I need them.

All items used are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked above.

Blog Candy

Today’s blog candy includes a package of Prima Laraine Roses (my  new go-to flower type) and a wide assortment of ivory and white ribbon from my scrap bin (pieces are all LONG, not truly scraps at all — they are spool ends not quite long enough to sell in increments needed).  They are in a plastic bag, just as shown, and some types of ribbon may need to be ironed before use – depends on how fussy you are and the look you are after.

As always, this is a Mystery Blog Candy, meaning the winner will be drawn from comments on one of today’s participating blogs, so leaving a comment on each blog will greatly increase your chances of winning, but only one comment per blog, please. The winner will be selected at 6 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday, May 22 and will be posted on Sharon’s blog on Wednesday or thereafter.

You must check back to claim your prize if you are the lucky winner!

Good luck.
