Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style – Melissa Frances

Good Saturday morning everyone!  Today our Ribbon Inspiration/Stamp Simply Style hop focuses on product by Melissa Frances — LOVE her papers and embellishments — SO pretty, SO vintage, SO calling my name all the time!

What I made for today is not a card per se, but a 5 x 7″ piece of art, if you will.  One could write on and sign the back, using it as a card.  It can also be hung from the clip on a nail or small hook or pinned to a note board.  Or it could be displayed on a table in a photo holder as I have it displayed in my photo below.

I used Attic Treasures paper (6×6) for this project — LOVE that pad!   It is filled with soft, subtle vintage  prints and patterns all in shades of cream, blush and brown tones.

The card stock used is SU Very Vanilla and Blush Blossom.

The ink used to edge the paper is Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen.

The Let’s Celebrate little banner is a sticker in the Attic Treasures Collection.  Couldn’t be easier.  I added the silver rhinestones by Kaisercraft.

See my focal image flower with the strips of alphabet, numbers and zig zag stitching?  It’s just a portion of a sheet from the pad.  Couldn’t be easier!

I also used the Melissa Frances Victorian Ephemera Kit for some of the embellishments on this card.  The pearls came from that kit, but can also be purchased individually on pearl and rhinestone cards by Melissa Frances.

This beautiful satin flower was also included in the Victorian Ephemera Kit.

The May Arts 1.5″ Satin Pleats (ivory) were adhered with Scor Tape.

The May Arts 5/8″ Crochet Lace (ivory) was threaded through the center with a double strand of Burlap String (ivory) amd then adhered with Scor Tape as well.

The bow is made of 1/2″ Seam Binding in Cameo Beige.  That is such a gorgeous color — with just a hint of blush to it, it goes so well with so many papers I have!  Just love this color.  It’s just a tad bit pinker than a cream or ivory.

The bow was made with the Original Bow Easy.

Again, the satin flower is from the Victorian Ephemera Kit and the other little bow is of the Burlap String.

The soft green leaf is from one of the Laraine Rose packages by Prima.

The floral cluster is held together with Aleene’s glue that I get from superstores.  It is very inexpensive and holds super tight.  I’m very generous with my glue and hold and press with my fingers for a bit until it takes hold.  Then allow plenty of time for it to dry well.  But once dried, it is rock solid.

Going back up to the first and second photos, the bow treatment there was made the same and topped off with a Melissa Frances Pearl.  That clip is just something I had on hand from an office supply section — I think maybe Office Max years ago. It’s a really pretty damask printed brown clip, but it doesn’t show at all once covered with the ribbon.

And I think that does it for this project.  It was fun!  I hope you enjoyed it and maybe feel inspired to try one of your own!

All items in stock by Melissa Frances can be seen here.

All items used are available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked above.
