Ribbon Inspiration – Prima Trim

Welcome! It is Saturday and we do have some Ribbon Inspiration for you today!  Linda and I have created projects using beautiful trim by Prima.  I don’t know anyone who doesn’t just LOVE Prima products, and their trim pieces are absolutely fabulous to work with.  Their trims on a card are sold in 12″ pieces intended for scrapbook pages, but they also work fabulously for card creations, which is what both Linda and I did today.

As I’m still in need of wedding cards, here’s what I made for today:

These colors just make me *sigh* — so beautiful!

The designer paper used is from the Almanac Collection by Prima — SO beautiful and vintage.  The paper is available in 6×6, and A4 (a little over 8 x 11) and a variety of embellishment packs are available as well.

A little edging was done with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tattered Rose.

The cardstock used is SU Blush Blossom and Very Vanilla.

My sentiment is gold embossed using a NEW JustRite clear set from their July Release – Ever After Antique Labels One. It is in stock and shipping along with most of the July release.  The sentiment was cut with a coordinating die set made by Spellbinders for JustRite – Antique Labels One Dies.

To emboss the sentiment I used VersaMark Ink, Super Fine Embossing Powder in Gold, and a heat gun.

Please note: That gunk on the upper left corner of the sentiment was some double sided tape that snuck out on me.  It is barely noticeable IRL but VERY noticeable in the photo.  It has since been removed with my fingernail.  Problem solved!

I matted my sentiment onto another layer cut with the same die using Mirror Cardstock – Gold Silk.  (Either cut two pieces and extend one above and one below, OR cut one piece and cut it in half lengthwise in the middle, allowing you to do the same.)

The bottom filigree layer is cut from Blush Blossom cardstock with a die from Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two.

Elevation was created using 3D Foam SquaresKaisercraft Pearls were added as accents.

There are so many pretties here. Let me list them:

Lovely Lace by Prima in Peach

1.25″ Silk Ribbon in Champagne by May Arts – bow made on the Original Bow Easy

Flower are Prima Miss Godiva in Blush

The leaf is from a package of Prima Laraine Roses

The stick pin is a Prima Petal Pin – Iced

The Lovely Lace is secured with 1/2″ Scor Tape

The floral/bow cluster is held together with Aleene’s Glue available at superstores.

What really pleased me about this card is just how well all the embellishments and ribbon matched each other!

Here’s the inside, stamped with a sentiment from a cling rubber set by ODBD called Love.

All sets in stock by ODBD can be seen here.

VersaFine Onyx Black Ink was used.

The same papers were used for the bottom border as were used on the card front.

Here is my card ready to go in its 5.5″ Square Clear Box.  My card is made 5.5″ square so it fits into the box perfectly.  A Clear Box always makes a nice presenation while totally protecting the card.

And that does it for my project today!  Hope you enjoyed it.
