Beautiful Cracked Glass – with Deb Saaranen

One of the most beautiful yet simple techniques in my opinion is Cracked Glass.  I just love the beautifully vintage look that can be achieved with tuly nothing more than heat embossing.  Deb created a lovely card for us today with a Cracked Glass image using a LaBlanche stamp — a fabulous pairing!  Here is a little peek at Deb’s card:

Can you see the cracks in the glass? It’s a quick, fun and easy technique that Deb explains in her post.

Find Deb’s post here.

Deb used these items from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store:

LaBlanche Silicone Stamp -  Nest with Eggs

Versa Mark, UTEE Embossing Powder, Heat Gun

Memento Tuxedo Black Ink

Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Tea Dye

Prima Songbird 6×6 paper pad

The entire Songbird Collection can be seen here.

Seam Binding

SpellbindersDies:  Beaded Ovals and Classic Ovals

Just a Note:  Though any stamps can be used with this technique, the LaBlanche images are beautiful for use with the Cracked Glass technique.  Being vintage inspired themselves, they are beautiful backdrops for the Cracked Glass.

All LaBlanche stamps in stock can be seen here.

A note on Cracked Glass: If you like a visual, you can see Beate’s tutorial on Cracked Glass over at SCS.  I note Beate is not freezing her image, just bending in her hands to crack.  If you’ll note Deb’s very fine lined cracks very close together, that is achieved by freezing — just 2 different ways to achieve similar looks.

All items available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked.

Steve and I actually snuck away for a couple days earlier this week.  We spent 2 nights on Canal Park in Duluth, MN.  That’s been a long time favorite place for us for a quick get-away.  We don’t have to travel too terribly far but yet can feel like real tourists while enjoying our beautiful Lake Superior and all that Canal Park has to offer.  Had a great time, but it is always equally as good to get back home!

We have another 60th anniversary party to attend tomorrow, so if life goes as planned, I’ll be back to share that card tomorrow!

Thanks so much for stopping in — hope you enjoyed Deb’s Cracked Glass project!

Have a wonderful day!

Such a great card! I love that technique! You can also use it on a non-stamped image. I use a lot of Crafty Secret’s vintage images, and they are wonderful done this way.
