Venise Lace in Stock!
Today I made a sympathy card with some of the beautiful Venise Lace that recently arrived. It seems no matter how many sympathy cards I make, I always find myself without one on hand, and such was the case again. I thought the new Venise Lace in stock would be appropriate on a sympathy card, and I hope it brings just a little bit of comfort to the recipient. Take a look:
I also used a new paper pad today from the Rondelle Collection by Prima. I used the 6×6 size.
The sentiment is from my go-to sympathy set – With Sympathy by JustRite.
It is cut with a Spellbinders Labels Four die, another long-time favorite of mine.
Here’s my pretty new Venise Lace — this one is Venise Lace 1.75″ Ivory.

It is adhered to the card front with 1/2″ Scor Tape.
The bow is 1.25″ Silk in white by May Arts, bow made on the Bow Easy. I used the smallest legs on the Bigger Bow Easy for this 5.5″ square card.
The flowers are a combination of Miss Godiva by Prima in Marshmallow and Caramel.
The pin is a Prima Petal Pin – Iced.
The floral/bow cluster is held together with Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue available at superstores. I am very generous with my glue, hold and press for a bit, and when dried, it’s on tight forever.
Here’s the card inside (my apologies for the blurry photo), using stamps again from JustRite’s With Sympathy. The rose is stamped in Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tattered Rose and the sentiment is stamped over the top in VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. Paper from the same pad, Rondelle, dresses up the inside bottom.
Here’s the card in its 5.5″ Square Clear Box, all set to go. The card is 5.5″ square to fit the 5.5″ Square Clear Box, where it is totally protected and ready to give/mail. I insert all of my cards with any amount of dimension into a Clear Box as soon as I get done making them. They stay in perfect condition until ready to use. I have had so many cards damaged over the course of the years as they were stashed in shoe boxes waiting to be used — bent edges, crushed bows, etc. I am totally pleased to now have cards available for use in absolutely like-new condition!
