Anna Griffin Card Kit

This Anna Griffin Card Kit is back in stock as of 1/2/13.
The re-stocked card kit has one slight change from the original shown below.  There is NO sheet of gold mirror paper included.  It is currently unavailable.  The price has been adjusted accordingly.  Just want to point this out as when you look at the samples below, the current kit has NO gold mirror paper included.
Find this kit in the store here.

I haven’t made a kit in ages — just ages!!!  I truly love putting items together to create kits, but time is my constant enemy.  However, I just had to satisfy a personal need of late, and the end result is that a kit got made up in the process.  My need?  To look at, touch and play with some of the beautiful items created by Anna Griffin.  I have long loved her style and her products and it’s been literally years since I’ve used anything Anna Griffin.  Soooo — I ordered some things, played around yesterday afternoon making up some cards and in the process I created this kit.
This kit makes use of die cuts and  dimensional stickers so no stamping is required.  It was created with the busy woman in mind who wants to create some pretty cards to add to her stash or to give as gifts, that won’t take a lot of time.  If that is you, then you’ll enjoy this kit!
I took pictures of everything I made, so I’ll just show you all the pictures first and you can read more about the kit contents at the end of this post.
The Anna Griffin Card Kit can be found in the store here.
These 3 cards feature the cream colored embossed paper.  This paper is very heavy and rich in appearance.
All cardstock used for the card bases is SU Very Vanilla.  The card bases are NOT included in this kit.
This card uses a circular sentiment die cut with flowers added.  Pearls were added to flower centers and the pearls are included in the kit.
For this card I layered two die cut pieces.  All cards have some element popped up on the 3D Foam Squares which are included in the kit.
LOVE this card. Not much to making it!  Pearls added.
Rather than using ribbon on this card, I used the Mirror Silk paper included in the kit to create my piping strip.  To make that I cut a strip of the gold paper 3/4″ wide, I attach it to the designer paper exposing very little, then attach to the card front.  If you’d like a better visual, this is a 2 1/2 year old post where I show how I do this.  Now remember, this link goes to a very OLD post, so some of the items shown there are no longer available, but it shows how I make my piping strip — something I do VERY OFTEN.
This trio features the flocked blue damask designer paper.  It is very heavy and feels like fabric when you touch it. These designer papers by Anna Griffin are very high quality.
This card could be used for a wedding or anniversary or just for your “love”!
This time the piping was made from the blue embossed designer paper.
A nice sentiment here.
I love using larger prints, such as these.  I think it lends to the overall elegance of the cards.  However, please note that when using paper with larger patterns, to make them look *right* you do need to pay attention to the pattern.  Note how on all the cards I’ve done, I have made sure that the pattern is centered on the card.  That’s very important when using these larger prints to make it all *work*.
I think this would make a great graduation card or a card for anyone who is moving in a new direction!
The ribbon on this card is the 1″ Reversible Satin – it’s so pretty!  It’s gold on one side and champagne on the other, but also available in many colors.
This trio of cards uses the gold flocked damask paper.
This card is 5.5″ square.  All other cards are a standard 4.25 x 5.5″.  I just like doing square cards every once in a while!
Here’s a simple friend card.
The burgundy ribbon on these cards is 1.25″ 100% Silk by May Arts.
And here’s another friend card.
In some of these photos the gold damask is looking kind of green-ish to me.  It IS gold and the ribbon matches it very well, but I guess you wouldn’t know that from these photos — so sorry.
This trio uses the dark blue embossed paper.
This card shows the embossed design better than the rest.  It’s gorgeous paper!
Just another option with the die cuts place askew.
Here’s another very clean and simple friend card.
And have you noticed there have been NO BOWS on any of these cards?  Truthfully, that was HARD for me to do — LOL!!!  But I wanted to show you some fairly flat, quick and easy cards.  I think they look gorgeous as is — but you can also imagine each of them with a lovely bow added!
So in that light, this next trio has some simple silk bows:
This trio makes use of the 3-dimensional stickers included in the kit.
I used the Original Bow Easy to make the 2 standard bows.
So simple, but so pretty – I think, anyway.
My bows are adhered with Aleene’s Fast Grab Tacky Glue that I pick up at superstores very inexpensively.
Similar card, different orientation. Note the tiny pearls added to flower centers.
The bow on this card is not really a bow.  I just knotted the silk, glued it on and covered my knot with a small piece of “flower” I cut from one of the dimensional stickers. I cut if off neatly, so you can’t even tell it is missing from the original piece.
And those are the 15 samples I made up yesterday afternoon. I used just over 1/2 the paper included, had about 1/4 of the die cuts left and about 3/4 of the stickers left.  So there is a lot more crafting left beyond the 15 cards made and shown here today.  And the cards shown today are merely samples of what I came up with.  The sky is the limit once you get your kit and I urge you to use your own creativity!

_________
Suggested add-on purchases to this kit:
1) I used one full pack of pearls on these 15 cards – so you may want more.
2)  I used almost one full pack of 3D Foam Squares on these 15 cards – so you may want more.
3) Clear Boxes.  If you would like to make up sets of cards to give as gifts, I always feel that making 3 coordinating cards and inserting them into a Clear Box with 3 envelopes is a perfect little gift from the heart.  The A2 Clear Box is the size for our standard cards at 4.25 x 5.5 with envelopes.
4) If you are going to make up gift sets in Clear Boxes, then finishing off those boxes by tying them with 1.25″ Silk Ribbon into a nice bow looks just beautiful.  There is adequate silk in the kit for the cards and a lot of bows, but if you want to wrap and tie silk around some gift boxes, you’d probably do good to order a bit more.
