Layered Heart Valentine – by Deb Saaranen

Today Deb created a simple layered Valentine with the use of a classic heart die set.

Lots of texture here with the lattice background, but still so simple to create!  Love that!

You can see the full post here on Deb’s blog.

Deb used:

Spellbinders Dies:  Classic Hearts, Basic Lattice

Paper:  Bo Bunny Double Dot Designs – Soft Shades and Bold and Bright

Miscellaneous: Kaisercraft Rhinestone – Pink, 3D Foam Squares

All items available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked.

Once again, at the risk of being repetitive, I’d like to show you a few other simple ways to create quick projects with the Classic Heart dies.  These projects are all pulled from my archives, but they do show simple ways to use these beautiful heart dies:

I made this simple Valentine in 2009.  The pink heart is adhered to the card inside, and it peeks through the heart opening created with a larger die.  Simple, but I like the effect.  The border embossed lines are scored.

Our Scor-it-All Mini Boards are current at 50% OFF.

I created this card for the Youth Group students at our church to make and give out to the elderly.  They had fun!  That was in 2009 as well.

The Bo Bunny Double Dot paper that Deb used today would work great on this!

The scripture stamp used is a Verve Plain Jane, Psalm 37:4.

See all scripture stamps here.

I made this little heart wreath last year. I cut out all the pieces and had the Sunday School students each put one together in class.  The scripture sentiment is computer generated.

You can read this post to see exactly how it was made.  It was easy and fun for the kids to do!

I have used these Classic Heart dies forever, it seems, and they never go out of style.   This Valentine is probably one of my favorite projects created with these hearts.  It was made 2 years ago in 2011 and is a gatefold with a pocket inside.

You can view this post to get a template to make this card.

NOTE: Please bear in mind, the post above linked is 2 years old, PRIOR to the opening of the current online store, so none of the links provided will work.  But here’s a quick supply list for this project:

Stamps:  Retired JustRite – many of the currently available Valentine stamps by JustRite would work — Hugs and Kisses - or scan our Valentine section for more.

Paper:  Retired Graphic 45 — A Ladies Diary is a good option in currently available paper, in a similar color scheme.

Spellbinders Dies:  Classic Hearts

Miscellaneous:  May Arts 1.25″ Silk Ribbon (Champagne),  Prima Encore Roses (Ivory) are a good substitute, May Arts String Leaves, Kaisercraft Pearls (Champagne), Velcro Dot Closure, 3D Foam Squares

All items available at The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store, as linked.
