Today I have a clean and simple boxed gift set of three cards to share.  They make use of some beautiful sentiments by Samantha Walker in a clear stamp set by JustRite.  This is the 2nd make-n-take project my friends got to do here on Friday.  They made the card that is on the left or right.  That is the same card layout, just one is applied to the card front with the designer paper on top and the other is flipped so the designer paper is on the bottom.

Here’s the set of three cards.  LOVE these sentiments by Samantha Walker.  Love the sentiments themselves as well as the font.  This stamp set (shown below) has beautiful frames for these sentiments, but I designed these cards to be used for a very quick make-n-take project, so I went super simple and was very pleased with the results.  These beautiful sentiment stamps can certainly stand on their own.

The sentiments and mats were all cut with Spellbinders Rectangle Nesties.

These are standard A2 sized cards – 5.5 x4.25″.

Paper:  Oliver from the Lost and Found Collection by My Mind’s Eye

Cardstock:  SU Gray and Very Vanilla

The grey patterned strip on each card is Washi Tape/Decorative Tape by MME (shown below).

Typically the washi tape is applied directly to the card front.  Since I was applying the tape over the designer paper on these cards, it was a tad bit too transparent for my tastes.  I wanted it to have a richer, deeper gray, so I cut a narrow strip of gray paper, applied the washi tape to my gray strip, then applied my gray strip to the card.  PERFECT!  I now had the RICH gray color I wanted.

I used a NEW ribbon on these cards – May Arts Faux Canvas.  Again, perfect for what I had in mind.

The sentiment panel is elevated with 3D Foam Squares.

Here are the card insides – just simple, but a nice way to finish them off.

A very quick and easy way to spruce up a clear box to turn it into a special gift set!

The sentiment is another from the same set.  This time I cut the sentiment with a die set that coordinates with this stamp set, then I sponged some color on to coordinate with the designer paper.

This is the die set used today, made to coordinate with the stamp set above.

One thing I really love about this die set is that is has 2 distinct looks, even though it is only one shape.

See how the lower image looks square, with round sides — that’s how I used it today.

Look at the upper image of the dies — when turned 1/8 turn, it looks round, with peaks on each side.

Not sure I explaned that so well — but can you see what I mean?
