Another DARE to Get Dirty Challenge Card

Today ends what I always consider to be the MOST fun week at Splitcoaststampers.  A week full of challenges hosted by the SCS Dirty Dozen and Alumni.  If you enjoy challenges, you still have plenty of time  to play along.  Multiple challenges posted each day over this past week will get your creative juices flowing and give you TONS of inspiration!

Check out the challenges over at SCS and join in on the fun!  Click here for Dare to Get Dirty 2013 details.

You do need to be a fan club member to play along, so what better time to join!  Find Fan Club information here.

I played along with Lydia’s challenge today (UnderstandBlue at SCS), making a get well card for my stash.  On the surface it doesn’t appear to be a get well card, but the inside has a get well sentiment.  This card, however, could certainly be made for any occasion at all.

Paper:  Remember Me by Kaisercraft (I have fallen head over heels for this pad!!!)

Dies:  Spellbinders Square Nesties, Circle Nesties, Foliage Two

Stamps:  JustRite Large Elegant Sentiments (front)

JustRite Get Well Labels Twenty (inside)

Ink:  VersaMark, Super Fine Embossing Powder (Gold), Heat Gun, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Fired Brick, Sponge Dauber (front)

VersaFine Onyx Black (inside)

My card is 5.5″ square (and yes, it’ll go into a 5.5″ Square Clear Box).  I don’t have a circle die large enough to create the 1/2 circle on the left side of the card. But here’s what I’ve been doing for years — I use my smaller Corelle bowls, the desert bowl size, and trace onto the designer paper.  Once cut it is a perfect 5.5″ for my card!  And if you ink the edges, no one will ever notice that it was scissor cut!  You could even distress the edges to further camouflage the hand cutting, but I didn’t today.

Here’s a closer look at the detail.

Ribbon:  May Arts 1/4″ Silk Ribbon – Ivory, Taupe, Champagne

Bow made on the BIGGER Bow Easy.  Using the 2nd to smallest legs on the Bigger Bow Easy, I wrapped the triple strands of silk (1 of each color) around the legs TWO times.  This gave me six loops on each side.

Flowers/Pins: Prima Interlude (Red); Prima Mini Rose Stems (Engraver); Prima Petal Pins (Iced)

Miscellaneous:  Kaisercraft Rhinestones (Red, Bronze); 3D Foam Squares

And here’s the inside, stamped using JustRite’s Get Well Labels Twenty.

I used the “Love You”.

I combined two sentiments from this set today for the inside of my card.

Really loving this font!
