Graduation for a Girl – by Sharon Johnson

Yesterday we attended the last 2 graduation parties of the season for us.  It was a bit strange this year as the only invitations we got were for girls, no boys!  Just the way it was this year.  And you haven’t seen me doing a lost of grad cards thus far as I had a lot leftover from last year that I used.  As I was now down to the last party and I needed a card for a girl, and all I had left was a card that was a bit masculine, or at least plain, I decided to just do a bit of a face lift to “girlie” up the card.  I’ll show you the finished result first and below I’ll show you how it started out. Take a look:

This is my new card with face lift to “girlie” it up a bit.

Paper: Cap and Gown by Doodlebug Design

Stamps:   Celebration Labels One and Bracket One by JustRite

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black

Die: Spellbinders Ribbon Banners Large

Ribbon: May Arts 1.25″ SilkNEW COLOR – Gray

Embellishments: Petaloo FlowersMinis in Lavender Purple; Kaisercraft Rhinestone Lilac

Adhesives: Tape Runner, Foam Squares, Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue

This is the inside. I really like this stamp for grad cards.  It’s a good size and can be used equally as well on the card front as a focal image or for an inside sentiment as I used it today.

This is the original card I began with today – my leftover from last year.

I did several black and white, clean and simple grad cards last year.  You can see them on this post.
