A Kaleidoscope Birthday – by Sharon Johnson

I took some time to make a birthday card this afternoon.  I had so many pretty new things staring at me that I haven’t had a chance to use yet, so I just dropped everything and decided to make a card.  The problem with having many new things on your work space at once, at least with me, is that I want to use them all.  I did try to restrain myself, but there are many new items on this card.  I tried very  hard to keep it tasteful and not “too much”.  Hope I succeeded! And then once I was done, I took my scrap pieces from the first card to make a quick and easy second. Take a look:

This card is a bit larger at 6.5 x 4.75″ made to perfectly fit into an A6 Clear Box for protection and gifting.

The Kaisercraft paper pads are 6.5 x 6.5, so it works perfectly to cover a 6.5″ card front.

Paper:  Kaleidoscope by Kaisercraft (LOVE it – great colors for summer – stamp and die cuts to match)

Stamps: Grand Birthday Sentiments by JustRite

Dies: Spellbinders Labels Twenty-eight (for tag) (see companion dies here)

Ink: VersaFine Vintage Sepia; Tim Holtz (Ranger) Distress Ink – Antique Linen

Ribbon: Venise Lace – Gabriella Ivory; May Arts 3/4″ Ivory Canvas Bird Print

May Arts 1/4″ Silk Ribbon – Teal, Tiffany Blue, Pink

Bow Maker: Bow made on the smallest legs of the Bigger Bow Easy

Flowers:  Prima Miss Godiva – Mermaid; Petaloo Botanica Minis – Pink

Embellishments: Maya Road Vintage Pins – Leaves; Sequins – Webster’s Pages Party Time Mix

Adhesives: Tape Runner, Scor Tape (to adhere ribbon), Liquid Glue

Just a closer look at the floral cluster.

And here’s the inside, finished off with papers from the same pad and same stamp set linked above.

And this is the card inserted into the A6 Clear Box, ready to gift or the perfect storage solution until used.

And here’s the 2nd card I made from the leftover pieces of paper.  I just kind of fit them together and trimmed off the excess.

The little sentiment is cut from the same paper pad.

The only differences in supplies would be the colors/widths of the ribbon.  This card used:

Venise Lace – Lucia Ivory

May Arts 1.25″ Silk Ribbon – Blue

Adhesive: 3D Foam Squares
