Today I have a gift card holder to share. I made it for a special young lady who we had the pleasure of having dinner with last night on her 20th birthday. She loved the paper choice, so I was pleased! The combination of pink and kind of a peachy-orange is so pretty, and with seam binding and flowers to match perfectly  — well, you just can’t go wrong. I used a tried and true fold that is so quick and easy to put together. I swear I’ve made a hundred of these over the years, but they all look different as you can vary the front “flap”, paper designs and embellishments. Take a look:

Here’s the inside – a pocket for a gift card, check or cash.

The original template I got years ago from Splitcoast was to use a 1/2 sheet of paper (8.5 x 5.5) and score at 2″ and 6″. The 2″ flap folds up for the pocket, while the larger flap becomes the top.

Today’s card is larger – finished measurements are 6.5″ x 4.75″. The card is gone, but figuring this out, the paper was cut 6.5″ wide and must have been about 10.5″ long, or so. Score for a 2″ pocket, then in again 4.75. It was made this size so it would fit perfectly inside an A6 Clear Box for gifting.

I often put a Velcro closure under the flap to hold it closed.  I didn’t this time. There was enough weight in the design of the card to just hold it down pretty well.

The Happy Birthday was stamped onto one of the die cuts from the back of the paper pad. I’ve said it before but I have to say it again – LOVE all those die cuts at the back of the Kaisercraft pads. Makes for quick creations when you don’t have much time!

And here it is, all boxed up and ready to go!

I used the 2nd from largest die under my sentiment panel. Kind of hard to see, but it gives that extra layer under the sentiment.
