Poinsettia Bird Cage – by Michelle Woerner

We have another evening post this week (the girls have been so busy) and WOW!! Michelle’s project this evening sure is a beauty. Created in typical Michelle style, it is very white, incorporates circular features in the design along with a poinsettia in white she made from a die and, the unexpected for a Christmas card, a bird cage, and it’s even in a circular shape! It all works together wonderfully. And the glittery backdrop looks just like snow — so perfect for this refreshing, wintery card!

Poinsettia Bird Cage WM

What a striking beauty! I LOVE this bit of a different take on a Christmas card.

You can find Michelle’s post on her blog here.

Michelle used:

Paper: White Cardstock

Dies: Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia, Bird Cage One Die D-Lites, Classic Circle Nesties, Lacey Circles

Ribbon:  Similar would be 1/2″ Sheer w/Satin Band or 3/8″ Metallic Solid Edge

Embellishments: Kaisercraft Pearls – Latte

Adhesives: Liquid Glue, Tape Runner and 3D Foam Squares

For the glitter:  Michelle used a scrap of white glitter paper she had.  To make your own  you have a few options. You can cover your circle die cut with double sided tape (like Scor Tape), or you can use the 3L Permanent Adhesive Sheets when you die cut you circle, or you can use a thin coating of liquid glue.  Once you have your adhesive of choice covering your circle, sprinkle on glitter, such as Stampendous Ultra Fine Crystal Glitter.  GORGEOUS!!!
