If you are drawn to vintage and pretty, you are in for a huge treat today. Heidi created a no stamp Valentine for us, using a sweet cherub image she cut from Graphic 45’s Sweet Sentiments as her focal image, accented with silk ribbon and dainty flowers. As pretty as the focal image is, it is the background that Heidi created today that pulls the project together to give it a luxurious, vintage feel. She used a stencil and a crackle embossing paste to create the rich texture and distress inks to add the color. Yes, I am TOTALLY smitten with this project! Take a look:

Paper: Sweet Sentiments by Graphic 45

Ranger Watercolor Paper, Cardstock – Pink, Blue

Stencil: Prima Designer Stencil 6×6 – Flourish, WITH Crackle Embossing Paste

Ink: Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Inks – Worn Lipstick, Broken China, Antique Linen (REDUCED!)

Ribbon: May Arts 1/4″ Silk – Ivory

Embellishments: Kaisercraft Mini Paper Bloom – Fairy Floss; Sequins – 5 mm Crystal

Adhesives: 3L Tape Runner and Foam Squares

Here’s a closer look at that fabulous texture created with a stencil and crackle embossing paste on watercolor paper, then color washed with pink and blue distress inks, and finally the crackle was run over with the brown shade of distress ink to highlight the cracks.
