Pumpkin Time – by Deb Saaranen

Published by at 8 00 am under Autumn Cards,Graphic 45

GOOD NEWS!!! Deb is back creating with us again! As many of you likely know, Deb and Paul spent that last 2 years in Swaziland, Africa, returning to the states in August. Once they returned they then had the long wait for their possessions to arrive — I guess one could say they were on the slow boat from Africa!  But they are now here and Deb is ready to roll with all her supplies at hand. Welcome back, Deb!

For her first project, Deb decided to go with a pumpkin theme. After all, what would either Halloween or Thanksgiving be without pumpkins! It is most definitely pumpkin time!

This is a no-stamp project making FABULOUS use of beautiful paper and a few embellishments.

You can find Deb’s post on her blog here.

Deb used:

Paper: Time to Flourish 8×8 Classic by Graphic 45

Ribbon: Seam Binding – Orange, Purple Nite

Bow made on Original Bow Easy.

Embellishments: Prima Candy Gems – Root Beer

Adhesives: Scor Tape, 3D Foam Squares

Graphic 45’s Time to Flourish Collection (8×8 Classic, 6×6 and Seam Binding Sampler shown)

Today Deb used the 8×8 Classic and 2 ribbons from this Seam Binding Sampler.

The images in this collection span the 12 month calendar, with month-appropriate images. Perfect for year-round creations, whether it be a calendar project, a scrapbook project, cards or any other fun project you might have in mind.

We have items from this collection in stock in 12×12, two versions of 8×8, 6×6, some smaller ephemera cards, cardstock die cuts, chipboard sheets, cling rubber stamps, and 3 coordinated ribbon samplers that we made up here. Crafting HEAVEN, to say the least!

Here’s the link to the entire collection.

This is the Bow Easy – both Deb and I use this simple little bow making tool exclusively for our bows. Have for year and years.

If you’ve never used one, it does take a few minutes and a few tries to “get it”, but once you do, you can whip out a gorgeous bow in seconds – truly, you can!

1) If you’d like to learn how, here’s a photo tutorial I created in 2009 to take you through it, step by step.

2) And here’s a follow-up tutorial from 2010.

3) And here’s Deb’s shabby seam binding bow tutorial here. (This is the bow on today’s project)

Hope these tutorials might help someone out with your bow making issues!
