We do little Make-N-Take Mini Classes each Saturday. This past Saturday we were playing with embossing folders for quick Christmas cards. Below are the samples I created. The ladies at class made some slight variations to suit their preference and I’ll mention those variations beneath each photo. All embossing folders used are by Darice.

This is a good design for a masculine or earthy type feel.

I used the embossed side of the image for this sample. One lady at class flipped her image over and used the de-bossed side where the markings on the pinecone were more prevalent. Both were equally as nice! That’s the fun of folders. Once your paper is embossed, you have two sides to decide between.

To get the scored line above and beneath the ribbon, I used a score board – super easy!

This is a fun one for rhinestone lovers – kids would LOVE to make this!

This card and the next are larger at 5 x 7.

They fit into the A7 Clear Boxes.

I like to use a heavyweight white paper for substance.

I’m going to show you two photos of this card. Being so highly metallic I just couldn’t seem to get a good view of how pretty this really is.

This is also 5×7 and fits into the A7 Clear Boxes.

I am SO partial to these mirror papers!

Making a card really doesn’t get much easier than this. Some ladies at class chose to omit the bow so their card was then totally flat for mailing – a bonus!!!

Since this was a class and for expediency I had a large clear block set up with this sentiment that we used on all card insides.

Inks used for sentiments: VersaFine – Onyx Black, Vintage Sepia

And last, but certainly not least, was the card that inspired this class. This lovely creation by Deb, using the de-bossed side of the tree.
