Last Minute Gift Wrap – by Sharon Johnson
Here I am, throwing something together once again at the last minute. These are small gifts I purchased for my Sunday School students. They fit nicely into these fun dotted and striped bags, so with a simple topper treatment, I was ready to go! I need them tomorrow evening and feel quite accomplished at having them done a good 20 hours in advance! I think these are fun for Christmas in the red, but would be so FAB for Valentines in the pink! Take a look:
I made about a dozen of these, 1/2 striped and 1/2 dotted.
These bags are in stock in red, black, pink and turquoise.
I turned down the top of each bag about 2.5″, and topped it with a folded 6″ doily.
To stamp the ‘Merry Christmas’ on the doily I first folded the doily in 1/2, giving me a straight edge to butt up against the edge of my stamp platform. I set up my stamp in proper position and then was ready to quickly stamp all doilies. I will say, it took several ‘stamps’ to get a good impression on the doily. The doily center is somewhat soft and textured, meaning it does not readily accept a stamped image, at least not crisply how I like them. But using the platform I was able to re-stamp several times until the look was perfect!
To attach my doily to the folded bag top, I used a standard staple.
You can’t see the staple as it is hidden under the circle sentiment.
