Sunday School Craft Projects – by Sharon Johnson

Good Sunday evening – I hope you had a blessed day!

I’m just popping in quickly this evening with the craft projects we did for Sunday School. We have a mason jar candle that my class of young teenage girls did and a grouping of tags that I made for treat bags given to the younger children on Christmas Eve. Let’s start with the mason jar candle project the teen girls did.

This was quick, easy and so very pretty.

The girls always want to make a gift for Mom or Grandma, and this year they asked to do table decor, so this was perfect.

We used a wide mouth quart mason jar wrapped with May Arts 3″ Printed Burlap. 1/4″ Scor Tape was used to secure ribbon to jar.

Next we wrapped the Scor Tape around the rim of the jar, several times, to cover it as best as possible. then wrapped the rim with May Arts Burlap Cording, leaving long tails so we could tie a nice big bow.

Next we adhered a Petaloo Textured Elements floral with a glue gun.

Once the jar was completely decorated, we added epsom salt to the jar, perhaps 1/3 full, and then rested a battery operated flickering tea light inside.

These were all so pretty when they were done!

Next we made a simple card to give with the candle gift.

We used the Jesus stamp set for the sentiments on the card front.

The fun paper is by Echo Park. I was using up scraps, and this particular paper pack is sold out, but here are other greats pads from Echo Park.

As class time to get these projects done was limited, I did the cutting and stamping at home and the girls assembled their cards.

The insides were left blank so they could write a heartfelt message to the recipient.

Last up are the tags I made to go on the treat bags given out to the younger children after our Christmas Eve service.

I made 36 of these tags for the treat bags.

The Christmas sentiment is from our Merry Christmas stamp set.

May Arts Baker’s Twine was used as ties on the tags.

I was using scraps up from last year’s Christmas papers, so there is no telling where these sheets are from. And that’s the good thing about saving scraps – they always come in handy for something, somewhere down the line!

And that wraps up our Sunday School craft projects for today.

Hope someone might find just a bit of inspiration from these projects.
